Signing up to buy $1000 visa/mc gift cards
You can buy the $1000 cards on Simon's volume site. Their regular site only sells $500 cards.
If you're new, or haven't bought anything in a year, you need to register at https://www.simon.com/volume/register-consumer
As part of the registration process, you will have to go to a brick and mortar mall and buy at least $3000 in cards in person, as well as filling out some paperwork while there. After that, you can do everything online.

As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.

$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

Check the dates again. My info says the offer ends Dec 9, not Dec 12.

SM should consider to switch to usb vgc if possible, as that could help their sales

How did you determine this amount? I was able to buy $195 MOs with MCGCs but of course that's under your stated limit. Do you think that $250 limit would apply to VGCs at Kroger as well? And would they allow multiple swipes?

I meant that Simon only sells the MCGC in denoms up to $250. I'm not wasting the fee for a $250 GC.

At least that's the limit my volume account had on a MCGC. YMMV.

I get your point but I disagree. This will only speed up the ban on US Bank cards from WMT & MG. Like we always say in MS world - keep the water flow, but slowly.

I see. But you can buy $500 MCGC at grocery stores, and get the GC category bonus to boot, and if you are lucky the $10 off of the fee at Safeway. So I would infer there is no known issue with liquidating these for MOs like there is with Meta VGCs?

What would *really* help their sales: become a MO agent ...

I've been wondering what it takes to become one. Do you need a banking license? And how much anti-laundering diligence do you have to maintain? Its not like 2 bit convenience stores out in the sticks have very high tech systems to handle anything complex...

For all you having trouble liquidating SIMON visa card, Go liquidate at places that issue MoneyGram vice WesternUnion money order. I have been to two places that issue WU and both places were declined for SIMON, but a place issue Moneygram went through. Would like more DP. TIA

Walmarts here use Moneygram MOs paid thru BOK Financial (Tulsa bank). I haven't actually tried any Simon GCs but I'm assuming they would decline at WMT since most of my Meta $200 VGCs from ODOM and Staples get the Debit declined issue.

Kroger here is on WU and they work there.

It has nothing to do with the issuer of the MO. As pointed out, the least likely to succeed is WM, and they issue MG MOs.

I hear ya, but Simon's problem will be, unlike the convenience store in the sticks, will process a lot of MOs to the same people over and over again. They'll need to have systems in place to account for that.

I'd love if they did, but my personal guess is that the compliance costs will be too great for them.

It will already be loss making due to the swipe fees, before any compliance costs are considered

Become an Agent:

https://agentportal.westernunion.com...sFtBecomeAgent
https://corporate.moneygram.com/become-an-agent

Maybe we could fill out form with Simon's info to get WU/MG salesperson to call them
