As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.

$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

2020 Promotions

Ongoing: FREEGROUND - Free Ground Shipping on any order size. Limited to 5 orders per customer. Expires December 31, 2020 (subject to change).

5/15-6/17: MDHOL20 - 20% off Visa Giftcard Purchase Fees + Free Ground Shipping on orders of 9 more cards
5/15/5/31: MAYGROUND - Free UPS Ground shipping on orders of 7 or more cards
5/15-6/31: MAY20VG10 - 10% off purchase fees on Visa Giftcards

The only two fields I see are To and From. I put my name in both fields. The cards I just ordered have GIFT RECIPIENT on them.

Simon has two sites for ordering its gift cards. The retail site is the one you're describing, which doesn't allow for your name to be put on the cards. The volume site is for business/corporate/large orders, which allows the personalization.

anybody figure out a way to remove the GIFT CARD printing? i have way too many people asking to see the card and reject it because of that. i'm like LOOK it says debit card! the gift card wording is killing me almost everywhere around here now. i read in the reddit group that someone on FT in this thread posted a solution but spent about 2 hours looking thru this thread and didn't find any mention.

Did you run 4x200 Metas from Staples on BB? If so, what did you tell them in order to deposit 4x? I usually say I need to load BB but that works once, then ask to load wife's for 2nd card. Would be great to dump 4 at a time. Tks

easiest way is to just get the online cards where you can get your name printed. and then use a sharpie to cross out the "gift card" text. If you are stuck with cards (assuming the grey cards bought in person) then not much else you can do apart from finding a friendly CSR or try other locations.

or you can try some sleight of hand and swap a real debit card without them noticing lol

or print a sticker of a real debit card and stick it on top of your VGC. probably won't work if the CSR really inspects your card

The email I got states “Offer applies to business-to-business orders only.” Maybe just for their corporate customers?

probably just some bad luck...had 1 card error out on 2 swipes yesterday at a WM, then tried again today and error'd out on 3 swipes. Cancelled the transaction and ended up liquidating at grocery store

i don’t think it’s bad luck. I had three $500 metabank cards from Tom Thumb (Safeway) that all errored out 7-8 times at three different WM’s with no successes. I have never gad a $500 card from Safeway error out before. Asked around and some others had the same thing happen today with both Safeway $500’s and Simon $1k’s. All errored out, no successful swipes. Hope it is a temporary glitch.
