Signing up to buy $1000 visa/mc gift cards
You can buy the $1000 cards on Simon's volume site. Their regular site only sells $500 cards.
If you're new, or haven't bought anything in a year, you need to register at https://www.simon.com/volume/register-consumer
As part of the registration process, you will have to go to a brick and mortar mall and buy at least $3000 in cards in person, as well as filling out some paperwork while there. After that, you can do everything online.
As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.
$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

damn wish this was the case 2 yrs ago with no gc fees.. we should do a WH petition to have simon increase gc amount to $1,000 or more instead of the measly $500. 50 gcs and the terminals are gonna freeze.

P.S> I still vote for Simon as the overall best place to acquire GCs -- friendly, efficient, professional, competitive pricing. These guys are really the kings of GC sellers, as far as I am concerned.
EDIT: I originally said 10 cards, meant 20 cards.

New form requires SSN if purchase "exceeds" $10k. Today, I purchased 10X$500, so $10k for cards but >$10k when considering fees. CSR did not require me to complete the SSN section. Not sure if this is reflective of policy or just an outlier.

Has anyone purchased from Simon on their CIC recently? Simon purchases show up as Office & Supply in my UR portal, so I was wondering if they trigger the 5x.

You are correct to note my error, now amended above. But your observation on $3.95 price is surprising -- I don't know of any walk-up outlet that has better "everyday" pricing, where you can buy cards in bulk with no difficulty. Very glad I won't see you at Simon, one less person to wait in line behind.

eg 1 CC earns me 6x @ a supermkt or 3x at SM, it doesnt pay to use that CC @ SM, another earns me 2x everywhere SM turns out cheaper, a person has a CC that earns say 2% back then SM is a better deal

I purchased 12k 2 days ago with the new form in Texas. It's rolling out slowly.

I'll have to recalibrate some of what I do. I know now that if I drop my form off at the CS desk and walk to the restroom and back, that's about how long it takes them to swipe my 20 cards. I'll probably go back to calling in advance.
But since my nearest SM is 30 miles away, anything that cuts down my trips is really good news.

Assuming you were replying to my post, the answer is that I have 5 different credit cards I use. Not all at once, but sometimes as many as 3.
I did my first >$10K purchase today, at a mall where they don't know me (not intentionally, I just happened to be in that town). Very easy.
I think I'm going to change my basic order from 19x500 + 1x421 to 48x500. I prefer to buy multiples of $2K because that's how I liquidate them, and it will simplify things because I'll never have to buy a MO for $920.12
