Signing up to buy $1000 visa/mc gift cards
You can buy the $1000 cards on Simon's volume site. Their regular site only sells $500 cards.
If you're new, or haven't bought anything in a year, you need to register at https://www.simon.com/volume/register-consumer
As part of the registration process, you will have to go to a brick and mortar mall and buy at least $3000 in cards in person, as well as filling out some paperwork while there. After that, you can do everything online.

As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.

$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

Simon rep said the system wasn't working when I called around 11 and said it was system wide and not just at their location. She called me around 12:30 to say the system was back working. Was able to get my giftcards just fine.

Thanks; I went back later in the day (around 6) and my location was also working.

New to Simon Malls Gift Cards - when ordering online are you ordering a 'Simon Mall' branded GC Visa or MC, that can be used outside of the mall?

Yeah, they're just visa/mc gift cards.

So does anyone know why they limit MCGC to $250?

I'm trying to hit my MQM bonus spend and recently saw that Simon Mall VGCs no longer post for miles. I got really spoiled with $500 for $3.95!

With Simon no longer working for AMEX, are the best remaining options to wait for VGC sales at OD/Staples on their $200 cards? I'm trying to hit my spend bonus for MQMs. I did have a One VIP that was hit on the 5/21 shutdown.

I did a quick check of a small ($600) GC purchase at Staples with Amex for Hilton and it did go through 1 month ago but that does not mean that they will permit large purchases. Just let us know how you fare with your Amex cards at supermarkets.
grocery works.. no worries >$100k this year and with most in April May June.

Any recent DPs of ONLINE Simon VGC purchases on an AmEx card still earning points or not earning points? Six weeks ago or so before it was widely known that Simon VGC purchases at mall locations were not earning points on AmEx cards I bought some at a Simon mall and some online. The mall purchases didn't earn points while the online purchases still did (the online purchases were after the mall purchases, so it wasn't just a timing issue). I wanted to see if anyone has recently bought Simon VGCs online and earned miles or whether AmEx has shut online purchases down too.

Anyone had any success with contacting Simon regarding the rumored $1k VGCs? Concierge rep confirmed but told me to contact Simon online, tried that but always got an error message when I tried to send them a message regading the Simon VGCs.

Darn it

Something went wrong. Be sure you’ve completed all required information and try hitting send again. If that doesn’t work, give our technicians a little time to correct the problem and try again later. (You might want to copy and save your message in a text editor so you don’t have to type it all over again.)

See error message above

Frequent Miler totally debunked the idiotic rumor that was served up that nitwit blogger over at Points Chaser. Simon only sells $1K to legitimate businesses for legitimate purposes. FM confirmed that Simon will never sell $1Ks to MSers.
