B&N in my area has been selling prepaid $20-500 vanillas for $4.95. Until today when they can't seem to get the register to allow the purchase. Anyone else seeing the cards at B&N or a similiar hard register lockout on the cards?

I'll reply just so ADK doesn't think he's been ghosted. I've seen them occasionally at B&N stores when traveling on the West Coast, but have not tried buying them there.

Is the B&N on or adjacent to a college campus ? I was looking at buying the (fee-free) 'Happy' GCs that can be spent @ B&N, to do a bank-shot and use them to purchase $500 GCs, until I read the fine print that said they could not be spent @ B&N college locations.
