Lowes not letting use gift cards purchased from Gyft?

Hey

I have a business and ink cash so I try to use gift cards for that 5x points wherever I can.

I got a couple of $500 gift cards from Gyft to use on a fridge at lowes. Kept getting 506 error. Tried to call and have them complete purchase... to no avail.

Anyone has any insight on this lowes issue with gift cards?

I am not sure I am in the right thread.

Lowes said a hold was placed on the cards by their system. So they then called their gift card specialist department to have those holds removed... After it was removed I was told I can go ahead with order.

I again tried to place the order online. Same issue....

Once again a phone call to lowes. Again removal of hold. Then I just told agent to place order for me.... and then.. again no go. system doesn't let him.

I am actually on hold now with them so they can place it manually????

Last time I am buying through lowes that is for sure. No wonder Home depot is way way ahead of them.

I am not sure what amount gift cards you use but I feel like it depends on the amount. Lowes system just blocks it over a certain amount and by certain I will guess around 300-400... I had two $500 gift cards while trying to buy a $1000 fridge. No dice.

Smaller orders I have placed many times without an issue

Gyft was not at fault. It was Lowes. I am in real estate and spend considerable time in home improvement stores and I hate lowes. They have a really outdated system...

Anyway, eventually a supervisor on the phone called my lowes store and had the appliance rep manually use it for the order. Then they email me a scan. Ridiculous...

Small story about lowes vs hd: I returned things I bought online at HD using an egift card and they have an option to have the system instantly email you the balance on an egift card... beautiful.

Lowes?????

I spent there an hour when trying to return something bought online with gc. After about 10 people coming and going to figure out how to do it because their go to is to give me a physical store credit card that I cannot use online which severely limits me... So after an hour they somehow pulled my return as cash then took a physical store gc and loaded it to it.... All along telling me they aren't supposed to do that. What a joke. I avoid lowes by all means necessary.

IIRC there is now a difference between Lowes and Lowes.com gift cards, I believe online cards do not work in store. This was news months or years ago (?), definitely not new...

They do work. But over a certain amount system blocks it. Try to order something for $50 using an e gift card from staples/gyft it'll work. When over 300-400 it is blocked.

CDO - not sure for what amounts each transaction but I have alos no issue when the transaction itself is under 300 or only uses one GC. The second I try to use more the system will block it. Period.

I am using up my last GC's with lowes and will never again buy from them.

Yesterday I tried to buy a $470 item. I tried to use the physical GC I was given at the store a while back plus a GC I had from before so 2 GC. Of course it was blocked. Again I need to call to make it work and waste 30 min.

Not worth it. Their system is very old compared to HD. I buy in HD on a weekly basis and only used Lowes as it was close to a project of mine and the differences are staggering. If no GC then probably it's ok but I will only buy with a gc so no lowes...
