These cans get a A+ for retro vibe, 2X 5 gal cans for $40 (free shipping) seems reasonable given metal construction & Jerry-type design.

So I guess that even without a gas points deal on gift cards, I could use a Mastercard at Giant MD to buy 3 $500 GCs, and net at least $2.25 off my next 20 gallon Shell fill up (.15 cents per $100 spend). That would work, right?

Yes, that would work.

Is it two pieces or colors? 2 pieces of the same color is 52. One of each color 39.99? That seems weird.

Anyone try using Apple pay to get VGC at S&S ?

They normally want to see the card with Gebbit purchases, but would just seeing the virtual card satisfy them?

Yeah... near-free gas is so much better than $2.20 off during the recession :)

But the GC's cost $6-$7 each and then a buck or two to liquidate. So, if you get 20 gallons with $2.25/gal off, you save $45. Great! But, you have to spend about $20 for the GC so you net about $25/tank. Factor in the hassle of the GC's and you have to wonder if it's worth it.

The MasterCard I'm using is Jet Blue which I plan to MS on for points anyways, so this is just a cherry on top. It used to be the FlexPerks, but due to deval, has changed my grocery spend to Jet Blue.

Working out well so far. I pump once a week, so this is a good cadence.

If you use a MC that gives cash back like the DC, then it's free gas.

So, I spent $2500 at Giant today on a MC and all I see in my FR is

Mastercard Bonus $0.00 02/28/18 15¢/gal earned
Did I miss a step? Does it take a few days to settle correctly?

In most cases for me, the points don't get posted in my FR account until 48 hours have passed. For example, I purchased $1500 in VGCs at S&S on Thursday of this week and while the transaction at S&S showed up in my FR app that night, the points only posted in the FR app this morning.

Yep showed up for me this morning. But then I went to Shell and even though it said I have $3.80/gal off, I got no discount
