of course, 'balloon & canoe' pkg is empty on the rack

do folks know if the 'sport & cupcake' work the same? may be not (since many are still available), but thought to ask anyway. Thx

Cupcakes are a no go, Houston. Black Kevlar remains a no-go as well.

Mostly cash only. Some stores accept DC (or VGC), but they are few and far between. For those who do accept DC, I keep it to 1 swipe / 1 transaction / 1 mo. Nice and clean. Their WU MO machine prints WAY faster than MG

Balloons consistently yields 2 x points. Converting those to free groceries is definitely a win, the ~ 2 % yield pays for the GC fees

Depends on store policy. Not a single WU here takes DC, cash only. Pity as there's a lot more WU stations than WM MG's.

$499 MO + $1 fee = $500 transaction from 1 vgc

only 1 location out of 6 in my area take dc. So they are unicorns. I try and only do 3-4 MO per week from it to keep it going low and slow.

Found a store with balloons today outside my usual area. Store would only sell me 4 cards. 2x gas posted nicely!

I can eek out $13-15 dollars in gas savings for every fill up using 10 rewards points. A net positive of $7 per vgc plus points from the purchase. Will ride this gravy train as long as I can.

Go to the rewards section on the safeway site, 7 rewards points for $ 10 off groceries, as well as a bunch more ...

Is the DC run through the register, or through the WU pin pad when you buy MO? The New England division is on the tail end of converting to WU, and the WUPOS and the MO machine are separate. The WUPOS accepts debit (processed by WU, not the store), but MOs remain cash only as the separate MO machine does not have a pin pad.

swipe card through the normal store POS terminal. They then print the MO.

they do do not use the MG special PIN pad.

I prefer to maximize to $25 per Safeway gas stop. Bring along a 5-gallon gas can, and a couple of smaller ones. Pump stops at 25 gallons, or I'd do more.
