I've just noticed for the first time Amex BCE only gets 1% cashback at Safeway for VGCs! How long has this been going on?

Reddit reported this as well. Apparently it's been since the start of this year.

Any idea if this applies to VGC at other grocery stores?

Are you the person who posted this on Reddit? Or is this a second DP, and if so are you sure you didn't hit your limit?

I spent $2K this Jan in ACME and no issues with rewards. This is BCP though. I don't think ACME/Safeway sends level 3 data to Visa. So, why would Amex be any different. I could be wrong.

AmEx (BCE/BCP) credits with a ~2mo (1 billing cycle) delay IIRC. And the limit resets on Jan.1 (I recently verified that with a chat rep).
So with that in mind, isn't now a bit too early in the year to be getting such DPs? (that's assuming last year's limit was met)

Feb statement was just cut. January purchases all coded @ 6% for BCP.

Seeing monopoly rewards next to many GCs at my local safeway... not sure if anything really comes out of playing monopoly though.

I get the monopoly pieces since they give them out anyway. I've gotten some free food and coupons. I don't bother collecting all the pieces though.

Why? It's so easy now to scan the code on the back of the pieces. Then drop them in an envelope, in case the app says you won something you fish them out later.

Purchased plenty with H!lton Card, and continue to get 6x points on Grocery spend. I would think it counts as the same. Shows up as Safeway on my statement.

This was part of my statement for 3/2018...not good if you like MS.
