Summary of Supported Payments by Card Brand
https://support.plastiq.com/s/article/supported-payments-by-card-brand

Official word from Plastiq regarding Visa Business cards that was asked which was previously thought it applied to only Visa Personal cards
Plastiq is unable to support mortgage payments on any Visa credit cards. This is an industry-wide mandate that affects all third-party bill payment services. Please note that mortgage payments are also unsupported for credit cards issued by U.S. Bank or Capital One and AMEX.

Plastiq Fees:
Standard Plastiq card payment processing fee is 2.9%. This puts most of the credit cards out of the reward range. Plastiq turns itself into a niche position to earn new card bonus or status threshold. Some CCs may still work.
It makes most of the reward programs not profitable. Use Plastiq to meet welcome bonus spending requirement or to meet certain spend requirements to reach elite status or for large spend bonus. Also take advantage of Plastiq referrals and promotions.

Delivery Fees (The Plastiq Ch. 11 restructure now added some delivery fees):
ACH/EFT/Electronic $0.99
Paper Check $1.49
Wire Transfer: Domestic/International $8.99/$39

This is the thread for 2018 and forward. The previous discussion can be found here.
Updated Nov-2018: A lot of the personal Visa CCs can't be used at Plastiq. Some will be treated as cash advance and won't receive any rewards. Only Capital One personal Visa CCs are not affected. Business Visa CCs are still good. The best CCs are Mastercard and Discover. AmEx CCs can still be used, but not on many of the payment types. Chase personal Visa cards are limited to the cash advance limit (typically 20% of CL). The details are listed as below:

Plastiq Referrals:
Standard Referral: When you refer your friend to Plastiq, after your friend charges $500 or more, your friend will get $500 ($0?) FFDs (fee free dollar) and you'll receive $1,000 ($100) FFDs to spend.

All personal prepaid Gift Cards (GCs) are disallowed. Not sure what "business" gift card can be used.

That's my speculation, but I only have one Amex business card so I can't say for sure.

Paying Wife's CRA bill

I have the Amex Biz Gold card and have selected Plastiq as a vendor. My wife will owe the CRA money for taxes. Anyone know if i can use my cc to pay her CRA taxes?

Has anyone used Plastiq (with Amex) to pay their child care center costs? Would this be considered Education?

Total tangent, but one thing I miss about our daycare/preschool days, is that our school accepted credit cards with no fee - and the director would let me use multiple cards because he churned cards for his own kids' tuition too. Every year was a mini-AOR and instant min-spend.

It might depend on the specific child care center (depending on whether it's stand-alone, part of something else, etc). So you only can determine that for the specific child center you're going to pay. Try it with Amex long enough before it's due so that you can pay it another way if the Amex payment method is rejected/denied.

Arguably not as good as AmEx BBP after you account for the AF and likely weaker transfer partners, but if it's a MC you'll be able to use it for a lot more payees than AmEx currently works for.
Also thinking about Arrival Premier, since ATTAM stopped working, but I have Aviator locked for 0%, so continue with this until I refinance in August, where I will need to change. If I couldn't get hold of Ink Preferred, than maybe Arrival Premier, but it's 2.14 miles max per dollar, and AF is kinda high.

If you want to earn 3x on Plastiq, there's now an easy way, but it only works for Chase UR and only for one year and only if you don't already have Freedom Unlimited. That's because Freedom Unlimited currently (copying Discover) is giving 3x UR (instead of 1.5x UR) on everything for the first year of your ownership of a brand-new Freedom Unlimited card. (This offer just started days ago.)

The only thing to consider is that it's a Visa, and you have took at Plastiq's restrictions on Visa with first-time payees. Plus it'll only work for a year at most.

I don't have one, but I'm way above 5/24, so I can't get one.

A lot people are within Chase 5/24. So this FU 3x does not offer a whole lot.

Has anyone been able to figure out why Plastiq codes as 3x on the CIP? It's not travel, or it would get 3x on the CSR, and it's not internet provider/telecom or it would get 5x on the Ink Cash... Is it a "shipping service" since they basically mail a check on your behalf?

not seeing the value in burning 1/24 for 3x CFU. unless you've maxed out all the CIP and CIC you can get (SSN+EIN)

Last (2017) May and June I paid AAA Socal with an Amex (for once-a-year insurance).

When I went to make one of those payments against yesterday, once I got to the payment stage Plastiq put up a big notice that Amex is accepted for this payee. I changed to a Visa and it went through.

So just because Amex used to be accepted for something on Plastiq doesn't mean it is any more.
