Summary of Supported Payments by Card Brand
https://support.plastiq.com/s/article/supported-payments-by-card-brand

Official word from Plastiq regarding Visa Business cards that was asked which was previously thought it applied to only Visa Personal cards
Plastiq is unable to support mortgage payments on any Visa credit cards. This is an industry-wide mandate that affects all third-party bill payment services. Please note that mortgage payments are also unsupported for credit cards issued by U.S. Bank or Capital One and AMEX.

Plastiq Fees:
Standard Plastiq card payment processing fee is 2.9%. This puts most of the credit cards out of the reward range. Plastiq turns itself into a niche position to earn new card bonus or status threshold. Some CCs may still work.
It makes most of the reward programs not profitable. Use Plastiq to meet welcome bonus spending requirement or to meet certain spend requirements to reach elite status or for large spend bonus. Also take advantage of Plastiq referrals and promotions.

Delivery Fees (The Plastiq Ch. 11 restructure now added some delivery fees):
ACH/EFT/Electronic $0.99
Paper Check $1.49
Wire Transfer: Domestic/International $8.99/$39

This is the thread for 2018 and forward. The previous discussion can be found here.
Updated Nov-2018: A lot of the personal Visa CCs can't be used at Plastiq. Some will be treated as cash advance and won't receive any rewards. Only Capital One personal Visa CCs are not affected. Business Visa CCs are still good. The best CCs are Mastercard and Discover. AmEx CCs can still be used, but not on many of the payment types. Chase personal Visa cards are limited to the cash advance limit (typically 20% of CL). The details are listed as below:

Plastiq Referrals:
Standard Referral: When you refer your friend to Plastiq, after your friend charges $500 or more, your friend will get $500 ($0?) FFDs (fee free dollar) and you'll receive $1,000 ($100) FFDs to spend.

All personal prepaid Gift Cards (GCs) are disallowed. Not sure what "business" gift card can be used.

I can verify from my last statement that my Plastiq payment earned points on my Chase Hyatt card (a personal card) once it posted, and it got processed as a purchase, and in fact it triggered the signup bonus (without it I would have have gone over $3000, and so the signup bonus showing as soon as I passed $3000 not counting AF shows that the Plastiq purchase counted toward the minimum spend for the signup bonus).

This was discussed a few pages back here. I even posted screenshots.
Sorry screenshots of what? Using this hateful infinite scroll back to the beginning of the year, I only saw a screenshot of a MC promo.

As for me, to be honest, I've used plastiq on everything BUT chase. But our esteemed colleague sdsearch above has used plastiq on a chase personal card, and there are lots of other sources that give the same. I've avoided doing so because it's kind of a pain and somewhat limited, but i expect I'll be using it for chase personal CCs in the near future.

Chase personal CCs work fine. Read Wiki and keep reading (scroll back). Just do not give advice if you do not have experience with it.

please spare us the lecture. I don't need to use every permutation of plastiq to know how it works.

Is my info wrong? No it's not, so next.

Your advice is horribly wrong. You should never reduce your Chase cash advance limit to $0 as you advised other people. Keep reading pls.

thank you, finally you're being helpful.

And since you're such an expert with chase, Have you ever tried to change your cash advance limit with them?

Two of my Chase personal CCs have very high CLs. So I can use them for PQ payments. If you get a $3k CL, then pretty much forget about using PQ with it.

There are still some good MC and Biz VISA CCs to use.

I use Chase Personal and Business cards often with Plastiq for a variety of expenses. I don't check the authorizations, but they go through without a problem and do not code as cash advances. My cash advance limits are whatever the bank gave me, I've never lowered them. I used the IHG cards last year very large payments and there were no issues. I used and continue to use the Ink Unlimited and IHG cards for recurring payments.

What was the largest amount you ever paid with those Chase cards? Particularly on the personal CCs?

For me...CFU personal card $6000. CIP (back when it was 3%) $35,000.

Last year, as Plastiq was just imlementting these changes, I didn't want my Chase Marriott card to be processed as a cash advance, and so I called Chase and got the cash advance CL lowered to something like $200. I then tried a payment with that card on Plastiq and it failed, because it said my CL was not sufficient for a $1000 payment. So obviously they were using the actual cash advance CL as the CL for authorization (and not 20% of the total CL as they claimed online).

This year, understanding that the cash advance CL is used for authorization by Plastiq but that the final transaction is processed as a purchase (at least if you've paid the same merchant before with another card). I kept the cash advance CL on my new Chase Hyatt card as is, and it was high enough for my payments this year, and so I was able to make payments on my Chase Hyatt card this year, only because I didn't lower my Cash Advance limit.

So while yes, you can lower your Chase personal card cash advance limit to very low over the phone, that's a terrible idea if you're going to use that card for Plastiq.

You either have tor "trust' that Plastiq will use the cash advance only for the authorization and not for the final purchase, or else not use the card for Plastiq at all. There is no way to protect yourself form cash advance and yet use a Chase personal card at Plastiq other than understanding the rules and the "trusting".

Plastiq said he has opened up more payment options. But I still yet to see any changes. BA personal VISA still blocked. Chase personal VISA still subject to 20% cash advance limit. Fidelity VISA still blocked.

It looks like that's still the expected behavior for any purchase not Rent/Utilities/Taxes/Tuition. I was able to process an HOA payment with Fidelity Visa up to the submit screen (didn't try submit.)

Can someone provide some assistance and insight into using a Simon Giftcard Visa Debit bought online at Plastiq to pay a mortgage bill? Plastiq says Blackhawk (Simon) denied the payment. Blackhawk says you can't use the the gift card for bill payment or money orders. They said if the transaction was used as a one off (and not setup as a bill payment), than it should work. Any ideas?
