Winn-Dixie $1.56 charge for an under $500 MO

Got a single MO from W-D today for just under $500 and was charged 2*$.78=$1.56. Asked the clerk and she said the double $.78 charge was correct. Any other data points this week for W-D MO charges?

Cant help you with WD perse, but up by me at some stores if an MO is above a certain amount (yet below their max allowed) you have the 2x in fees, so find out what WDs fees are , it may be up to $300 is .78 above 300 and below the max will be 2x or 1.56. I got lucky in that the csr at the supermkt I went into told me since its above $xxx the fee is 2x , so I just said thx and left. I dont thin k it was the stores policy but Western Unions. Never had that problem when the store used Money Gram, only some stores had a max of $500 for any 1 MO, which was that store or chains policy

Last year, I was paying .54 per $500 MO at WD. I no longer live near one to see what the current charge would be.

Thanks for the 2 data points. Last week the store was 1*$.78 for the same amount, so I will try another W-D today to get another datapoint.

Maybe Western U increased their fees. I moved from VA to FL. I now pay $.89 per $500 MO at a store that uses WU.

W-D allows individual stores to set their own rates. I know one store in your general area that charges $1 for all MO's.

I believe so. The same W-D last week charged 0.85 but today it was 0.78.

And today this W-D is back to $.78 for $500 again. They must be doing Uber Surge Pricing or a Delta's Skymiles hide-the-price-chart-and-charge-what-you-want-that-day game.
