Can you link another account to the MI CU and then transfer money out? That should have been the next step after account opening, to be able to transfer.

I'll be in Manhattan in approx. 4 weeks and could easily make the trip, however there's no guarantee that they would release the funds; they could just as easily do so over the telephone. I'd certainly make the trip if absolutely necessary (20K is pretty good incentive in my books!) but I'd rather not have to spend the money or fly in/out of JFK while on vacation. I'll wait to see what the CFPB, NCUA, and FDIC come back to me with. They are blatantly acting in violation of federal banking regulations, so I can't imagine this being a long and drawn out case. There's only one viable resolution as far as I'm concerned and that's the immediate termination of my membership, closing of all accounts, and relinquishing the balance in full, sent by registered check.

This is really the only MS I've put on my card in years, to be fair.
It seemed like such an easy opportunity based on my communication with the person who opened the account; it was friendly and trusting and I was told that the large deposit was no problem. I should never have let things linger for so long. I should have closed the account and pulled out as soon as I had the opportunity.
To answer questions above: Yes, it was indeed the same Chase card that was used to fund the deposit. The transaction took place earlier last month and until this afternoon, the credit card was still functional, so it's obvious that the FCU contacted Chase about my activity.
Now I'm not sure whether I should bother contacting Chase... my next statement cycles on the 11th which is in six days. I just spoke with a regular telephone rep. who was very nice but unable to provide me with any info on the closure of my card. She did say however, that any outstanding points should still post to my acct... I have approx. 37K earning on my next cycle. What are the chances that these show up? Should I wait until they're in my acct before I call in to speak with a specialist? I was referred to a specific dept. that is currently closed... I'm wondering if I should just wait things out now. My card is linked to other open accts so I can still transfer the funds. It was actually my wife's Chase card, truth be told, I was an AU on it. The good thing is that I have the same Reserve card and we were going to cancel this one eventually to avoid the annual fees, since she's also an AU on mine. The downside is that this had a much higher credit line than my card, which helped our utilization. I would not have risked this on my own card... my wife was indifferent to her card, so she doesn't mind.
Is there any way that Chase might reconsider/reopen the acct, given that we've been such good clients (typically put a lot of spend on the card annually) and there's really no other evidence of MS to be found? I can probably play dumb about the credit union charge... Anyone want to wager a guess as to whether the points show up in my acct on the 11th? Would you wait until the 12th to call and inquire, just to be safe? Is there a chance that Chase intervenes with the forthcoming UR points based on my calling; ie. brings the MS'd point earn to their attention? My UR portal still indicates that I should expect them in my account on the next statement...

And it keeps on coming... new Ink card was closed out too and I was supposed to earn 87K on the next cycle for min. spend!! What happens to these points?? It still shows 87,665PTS earning on next statement.
Arrrggghh!!! Why didn't I just wait another two weeks to contact the credit union... these points would have posted to my acct!
Strangely, my old Ink+ was left alone.
EDIT: I just called the Ink 800 # and discovered that the acct. was actually closed on the 31st and I hadn't noticed until today! The good news is that my UR points will still post in a few days and can be transferred out to other cards or travel partners so that's a huge relief!!! Phew!! I'm still getting the 87K+ for signup bonus and spend and I should see that on Monday. I'm going to wait to contact any additional departments for review until all the points have posted and I've transferred them out of the accts!

Who to complain to in Michigan: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/ag..._534291_7.xlsx
From the CU's site: "Almost anyone can experience the Honor difference! If you live, work, go to school, or attend worship services in the great state of Michigan then you are automatically eligible."

Wow, what a monumental trainwreck.
Well, you've made up for that lost time.
Well, lets hope that you've only wrecked this for yourself - and have not killed it for everyone by calling their attention to it.
Is this a serious question? You really think they're going to consider you such a good customer that they don't want to fire you? Hooooo-hah...
