What can we do with a money order?

1. deposit it into a local bank?
2. withdraw it on ATM?
3. scan with a mobile app to deposit it to an online bank?

....?

I buy 2 MO with 4 swipes (yes 4 swipes) at Walmart, then I turn around and cash each one for only $3 (After jumping to the back of the line). Then the fun starts.

Seems like an expensive way to do it. I guess if there aren't any banks or credit unions that accept MO deposits...

isn't it free if you're cashing where you bought it?

Before I found a bank I was comfortable ramping up MO deposit volume with, I would pay my mortgage with MOs. Also paid a few CC bills with them (on cards I didn't particularly care about; would never pay Amex, Chase, or Citi with MO).

I just overheard one of the CSRs mention it you have the other half of the MO with you.

I did see the sign for $3 for cashing MOs.
