Always test one gc before buying too many that you cannot liquidate.
As of 6/2017:
HB Vanilla mc & visa issued by Bancorp - liquidate at PO or some grocery stores, not WM. The Bancorp gcs are easier to liquidate.
Vanilla mc issued by MetaBank - might be able to liquidate at Kmart BP, Paypal, not WM or PO.

From the MS perspective, the Sam's/Walmart GC's still make a better deal as they're bid at around 90%FV. I see that CPK cards are bid at 68%, with the 20% discount bumping that to 85%. If Sam's Club sold Amazon or eBay GC's at a discount, that'd probably change the math.

just bought 5x$200 MCGC at SC along with a $200 SCGC. Transaction went smoothly on my amex. Got home an bought a $200 mcgc from sc online using the $200 scgc, a $5 scgc i got with membership and $1.48 on my visa. looks good to go.only other question is if i can split pay when buying multiple mcgc/scgc in store.

If this works, it would probably be the lowest cost of cashing the AmEx offer at ~3.5% + the nuisance of unloading $200 MCGC's. I wonder if this can be done via a portal.

Online is included? I thought it was B&M?

Thx for the awesome data point. I'll be rinsing and repeating that deal 6 times on our targeted cards!

OK...maybe I'm missing something here but why not just buy some variable MCGC at Sams? 2 x$500 and $250. That gets you to the $1,250 threshold for AMEX and you are done.
