I saw this at my local s&s as well. i'm thinking they mistook the 3 for a 2. Either way, I'm glad we'll be able to get gas points again soon.

So it was March last year too when they came back.

Can you use Stop and Shop rewards at shells in Pennsylvania? Has anyone ever tried this?

SS stocked with Ebay gc's this morning. This deal works well with Amex BCP 6% grocery benefit.

Thanks for the heads up. Using up my remaining points, I just filled my 2 cars up and have 10 gallons of gas stored. I was trying to decide on whether to buy $400 in ebay GCs to get another fill up. My problem is that, at the moment, I don't really need more ebay gift card money (and there are often other ways to get discounted ebay money). I think I will now try to limp along until March 4 to buy the Visas. With gas cheap, even at 2x, I could get two fill-ups for $1500 in cards. That's pretty manageable, even if you just turn those GCs into money orders. Good thing it's not summer, when I tend to drive more.

Further confirmation, I used 2200 points at the shell across from Potomac yards on route 1 in VA. Regular was 2.05 a gallon, and it brought the price down to 1.9 cents a gallon. Has anyone had any luck outside the Nova area? I'm curious if this is a systemwide update or regional.

What are you confirming? If you're pointing out that you can buy gasoline that costs less than $2.20 when you have more than 2200 points I can confirm that this has been working in MA since ~Oct/Nov. Unused points from the transaction will post back to your account in a couple of days.

perhaps that's why Markemark stated his report was "further confirmation".

thanks for the datapoint, Markemark.

Damn DiMAn0684, the sticky has a big, bold question mark next to how the rewards function when the price is below $2.20 a gallon, and other posters have left the question open ended with a YMMV. Just offering another data point for anyone curious.

Wasn't trying to annoy anyone, but was pretty sure that we've established that this was no longer a YMMV back in the 2015 thread few month ago.

Like stop, collaborate and listen I can only speak of NOva. As long as you have a full dime (100 pts) worth in ur account you receive the discount. So to get the price reduced to $0.019 or 0.029 if the gas is 1.889 the. You need 1900 points not. If you only have 1890 points then the discount is $1.80. At least since Oct/Nkv it's been crediting back any points above the gas price. I agree with DiMAn that this was pretty well confirmed. I do know NOVA points work in Baltimore but don't know with respect to the new software.

I looked over the years, I never seen one in PA that worked, and I go to PA a lot. The easiest way is to go to the website and look up locations. Second way is when you pull up to a Shell look for a sign that has a giant S&S Trademark and "10c, 20c, 30c off and more" language about gas. All Shells that participate have this sign in NJ. Many Shells DO NOT participate, so you need to make sure you pull up to the one that does.

Enjoy!

Cheers,

PedroNY

Just a reminder if you're using eBay GCs to purchase other GCs (that is, non-eBay GCs)...

1. You do get eBay Bucks (2%) -- even better if you manage to snag it when eBay gives you bonus bucks, such as a recent 4% bonus (targeted?).
I've assumed that you don't get any eBay bucks buying GCs but that is only the case when purchasing eBay GCs; all other GCs are okay.

2. Go thru a rewards site (topcashback, befrugal, etc). Check cashbackmonitor.com; just close attention to the fine-print on each rewares site -- some may honor only certain eBay categories.

Any other tips & caveats?
