How to pay my student loans (navient) using a credit card?
I have some student loans that need to be paid off but it seems that Navient only allows me to pay using debit cards automatically or credit cards over the phone with a surcharge.
Although the surcharge is not overwhelming ($14.95), it is also cumbersome to pay by phone and not smart to pay a surcharge every single time.
As such, I was wondering if it's possible to manufacture spending via purchasing debit cards and such.
What are some options to do this?

I pay my wife's using Plastiq.
So you find that it's worth paying 2.5% for the benefits you get? (i guess most reward program dollars/miles are rated right below $0.02 per mile, so it'd be slightly expensive, right?)

check with your credit union; there's some companies that have CU for their employees. There are those that offer CCs with 1.5% (or higher) CB on everything and also offer prepaid reloadable that can only be loaded with THEIR CC. There is no fee to load the prepaid cards so using this for transactions that won't accept CC is a way to go around it.

Try to have an international address, that worked for old Citibank loans (now Discover Student loans). They would allow you to pay via PayPal with a credit card and not collect a fee if your address was outside of U.S.
Good luck,

Poe's law is an Internet adage which states that, without a clear indicator of the author's intent, parodies of extreme views will be mistaken by some readers or viewers for sincere expressions of the parodied views.
Also, see below. That person hasn't said they were being sarcastic, so signs indicate you're wrong.
Or there could be a way to pay through Navient directly without a fee. Honestly, I've been told, when I called in, that there was no fee for paying via credit cards. So that's a possibility.

Yeah, I'll be honest... I wasn't kidding. I assumed a) the loan amount was large enough to do some decent MS volume with b) OP would be paying off the loan entirely.
If there is a $10K balance for example, a 15 bps fee would be a no brainer.

Dept of Education Loan
I am having a hard time really understanding the issue here. I pay my loans to Navient EVERY month using a credit card. There is absolutely no surcharge for paying by credit card. Although I do not have the option to pay by debit. Yes, you have to call to pay by CC. It is not a publicized option and cannot be done on auto-pay. You have to call every month and specifically ask for it. It is very routine though.
I don't know if the options available to me are because my loans are Department of Education loans that are merely being serviced by Navient as opposed to federal loans not directly held by Dept of Education.
