As of 9/18/21: WM loads are no longer free. WM will charge each load (no matter what the size) $3.74 in addition to the money being deposited into your Go Bank account.
GoBank fees and limits:
Cash deposits are limited to $2,500 per day and $3,000 per 30 days, subject to a maximum account balance of $50,000.
The monthly fee will accumulate if the account is dormant. You must call the phone number on the back to close the account.
5/29/19 - There may be a difference in which card gets free loads at WM. Getting the card online through GoBank.com sends out a Visa version. This card may not allow free loads at WM. Reports are that getting the card directly at WM will result in free loads. If anyone can confirm this, please do so.
-----------------------------
Shut down reports:
Please list your load/spend/billpay details (in a single statement/lifetime?) e.g.,

binnycode (closed, re-opened) - 7x $200 loads + 1x $700 load + 3x $500 over 2 days got me shut down. Called CSR and they re-opened my account, letting me know that "direct deposit would reduce my number of trips to walmart" lol!

I wasn't going to post my experience, but I saw a second DP on Reddit, so I figure I should share.
I opened a GoBank account for the first time early August. My card arrived with a Visa logo on it. I go to WalMart cashier to load $20 with my actual debit for $20 just as a test. I was charged $3.74. I asked the customer service desk what was up, and they said it's a recent change. Rep said she herself got a new one and also has to pay this with each load, but that it "didn't used to be this way." I reach out to GoBank and they tell me it's up to the vendor. I told them I went to WM, and that I thought it was free. They just responded with same thing.
Already frustrated, but then GoBank charges me monthly fee within 10 days of opening account. My work DD hits next day, and I call and plead with phone rep, explaining that I literally could not have gotten a DD in any sooner than I did. She waived the $8.95. I go to withdraw via cash using their network ATMs. Well, that ATM itself charged me $2... I gave up at this point, withdrew the rest of the money, and just closed my account.
I reached out to local churners who use GoBank, and they told me their card has a MasterCard logo; and that they're still not paying for loads. So who knows, could be new. But the Reddit DP also mentioned same scenario: new card, being charged $3.74, etc.

just wondering if anyone on this thread also drives for uber, I'm a MSer + Uber driver in this case. I got one of the Visa Business Debit card from uber perk.
Here is the break down, https://m.gobank.com/uber/noworries
I assume any other rules of engagement suits for the biz debit. 3k in 30 calendars days etc etc. Bill Pay & ACH limit. Anyone has any thoughts, comments, suggestions. TIA

It's the same thing with MCGC's no matter what the liquidation method at Walmart. It's the Walmart software that causes the issue, not the fact that you're buying MO's or loading a GB account.

I have two cards in the family, GoBank Visa and GoBank MC. neither one charges me load at WM nor ATM with draw.

Might be the case unfortunately. Their website used to say "Walmart is free" in the "deposit cash" section. It has been changed when I checked it again today.
Deposit Cash
You can deposit cash at any of our 100,000 participating retailers nationwide including 7-11, Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens or Walmart, for a fee up to $4.95. Just take your cash and your debit card to the store of your choice and swipe your card or hand it to the cashier at the register, and the cash will be deposited into your account automatically. The max you can deposit in cash is $2,500 per 24-hours, or $3,000 per 30-days.
