As of 9/18/21: WM loads are no longer free. WM will charge each load (no matter what the size) $3.74 in addition to the money being deposited into your Go Bank account.
GoBank fees and limits:
Cash deposits are limited to $2,500 per day and $3,000 per 30 days, subject to a maximum account balance of $50,000.
The monthly fee will accumulate if the account is dormant. You must call the phone number on the back to close the account.
5/29/19 - There may be a difference in which card gets free loads at WM. Getting the card online through GoBank.com sends out a Visa version. This card may not allow free loads at WM. Reports are that getting the card directly at WM will result in free loads. If anyone can confirm this, please do so.

americanindian (closed)- closed after 3 months today. had about 7.5k deposit each month, with lots of small value(<$20) purchases each month. liquidated mostly using bill pay.
rodsren (closed)- the dapperdon warned me. I was closed today after less than 5,500 or loaaing in less than 3 weeks (was going to try to keep it to 7,500 - 10,000 but didn't luck out.)
binnycode (closed, re-opened) - 7x $200 loads + 1x $700 load + 3x $500 over 2 days got me shut down. Called CSR and they re-opened my account, letting me know that "direct deposit would reduce my number of trips to walmart" lol!
tarcapone (open) old version opened October 2014 still alive February 2016. Load $1k/week ($4-$5K per month) nearly every Monday morning. Bill pay out large chunks to Credit cards. (Open) new version Opened November 2015 load $1K per week, but skipping a week each month. Bill pay out large chunks. My $1K/week is always one transaction (2x$500GC).

Been gone awhile
Once Kate was replaced at all 6 of my area WM, and BB and Serve were closed, I pretty much unplugged and gave up. I still have Gobank from 2014.
Questions:
can I use Simon GC at WM cashier to load Gobank?
is there any chance Kate replacements can load Gobank?
it has been at least 8 months since I had a Gobank load- any chance I'm being charged a fee? (Traveling now and unable to login/look)

can I use Simon GC at WM cashier to load Gobank? Yes. I sometimes stop off at a local WM on the way to work. I'm there early enough that the Money Center isn't open, so I use a cashier. Cashiers differ in their ability/knowledge in how to load pre-paids, so usually I stick to one $500 load rather than try to do 1K in a single transaction. Cashiers also differ in their willingness to load prepaids. I've been turned away on occasion.
is there any chance Kate replacements can load Gobank? Doubt it. In the good old days, I used to load GB at Kate. But Katie was replaced by ATMs, and these machines are just not friendly to us.

If you had a zero balance, you may have gotten away with it. Otherwise I'd suspect you are being charged.

They work pretty much the same except the Walmart money card charges a $3 load fee. I load a couple thousand a month on it just to have another liquidation source. I don't mind paying the fee if I can liquidate 2-3 cards in one load. The money center does this no problem but it seems at the regular registers the cashiers can't figure it out. I know it can be done but I don't know how to coach the cashier along as to how to do it. Any suggestions? Thanks

I pay my spouse's card. Although I am an authorized user on it, so I don't know if that counts. I am pretty sure the biller does not care who is paying the account and GB only asks for the account number of the bill.
