As of 9/18/21: WM loads are no longer free. WM will charge each load (no matter what the size) $3.74 in addition to the money being deposited into your Go Bank account.
GoBank fees and limits:
Cash deposits are limited to $2,500 per day and $3,000 per 30 days, subject to a maximum account balance of $50,000.
The monthly fee will accumulate if the account is dormant. You must call the phone number on the back to close the account.
5/29/19 - There may be a difference in which card gets free loads at WM. Getting the card online through GoBank.com sends out a Visa version. This card may not allow free loads at WM. Reports are that getting the card directly at WM will result in free loads. If anyone can confirm this, please do so.

Has anyone had problems in loading GoBank card using Metabank vgc recently? On 7/28, I went to regular cashier and tried to load $500, but I swiped Metabank vgc three times and got declined (Debit Not Available). I then swiped another Metabank vgc twice and still got declined. I successfully loaded $500 (one swipe) on 7/23 at the same Walmart. My friend swiped four times and got declined at the same Walmart at the same day. I did not have a chance to load $99.

Probably 30% of the time it takes more than one swipe to get a clean read on meta these days, which is a bit of a pain. My theory, (completely unfounded) is there is some sort of database look-up of the BIN going on and sometimes it times out giving the errors. This only started when they brought in the 99 limit at MC

Free loads via mobile barcode are still a thing with the Unlimited account, yes. Unfortunately, it's no longer available for new customers--closest thing is the Cash Back card, but it comes with a $9.95 monthly fee that can't be waived. No idea if it's available in any other Green Dot product.

I did not have any idea what she was talking about, since there was no mention anywhere that my Go Bank card could be loaded using a bar code.
I suspect that she was mixing up my Go account with the Unlimited account at that time.
There is absolutely nothing is any of the Go information about loading with a bar code. If someone can find the info, could the post it or PM me if they are hesitant to do so?

Interestingly, I was told by customer service at the time of the $3.74 fee debacle that I could load my Go Bank card using a barcode without a fee.

I was shut down, so I don’t have the app to pull up the info any more.

CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens are also options, but Walmart is (AFAIK) the only one that allows you to load from a debit card. The others are cash-only.

I tried attaching some screenshots of the process in my Green Dot app (not the same as the GoBank app, but similar interface), but I'm apparently still too new to even attach images to posts. 😂 The Green Dot process is 1) choose "Deposit" from the menu, 2) choose "Deposit Cash", 3) choose "Create a Deposit Code", and 4) choose "Walmart." The barcode is then generated and is valid for one hour.

Unfortunately, with the Go Bank app, pushing the deposit icon brings you to a screen which gives you the choices of making a bank transfer, depositing cash or a check and direct deposit.
Pressing "Deposit cash" brings up a screen which simply says "Take your Go Bank debit card to any participating retail store. Swipe your card and hand over the cash and it will be deposited into your account automatically"
There is nothing else to press and no further action can be taken on this screen.
I have yet to find any way to generate a bar cade with the Go Bank app.
BTW, it does appear that this app and card are obsolete and that there is no longer any way to sign up for this type of account. The new "Go 2 Bank" account looks better than my current one but I wonder if one can still deposit into the account using debit cards. I would like to hear from anyone on their experiences with the new Go. TIA

I'm wondering the same, I would assume so since even the original GoBank doesn't talk about debit loads.

However, we know from experience that the old Go will load using debit cards even though it is not discussed in the T&C's of the account.
I do not see anything in the promotional literature on new Go about that capability. I am hoping that someone has already tried and succeeded and will let us know

I have a Go2Bank card. So far it's worthless for me. What worked as DD for GoBank hasn't worked for Go2Bank so I'm getting charged $5/month. Haven't been able to do transfers from any debits even with the 1.5% fee. Haven't tried WM, since I have the no fee card. Still experimenting but about ready to give up. Would love to hear anybody having success (for our purposes) with this card.
