As of 9/18/21: WM loads are no longer free. WM will charge each load (no matter what the size) $3.74 in addition to the money being deposited into your Go Bank account.
GoBank fees and limits:
Cash deposits are limited to $2,500 per day and $3,000 per 30 days, subject to a maximum account balance of $50,000.
The monthly fee will accumulate if the account is dormant. You must call the phone number on the back to close the account.
5/29/19 - There may be a difference in which card gets free loads at WM. Getting the card online through GoBank.com sends out a Visa version. This card may not allow free loads at WM. Reports are that getting the card directly at WM will result in free loads. If anyone can confirm this, please do so.

I think that you are being transferred to Go2. Please tell us if your current DD will suffice for your new Go2 account. That would be an important DP.
With that being said, it appears that the DD requirements for Go2 have been tightened, This is from Go2 web site.
How do I set up direct deposit?
"IMPORTANT: The name and Social Security number on file with your employer must match your GO2bank account exactly or we won’t be able to make your deposit.
1. Ask your employer’s payroll department for instructions on setting up direct deposit.
2. Then follow these steps to get your account and bank routing numbers:
a. Log in to your GO2bank account in the app or website.
b. Find “Direct deposit” under Move money. Copy your GO2bank direct deposit account number and bank routing number.
c. If your employer requests the account type, enter “checking.”
3. Follow the instructions provided by your employer to provide your GO2bank account and bank routing numbers and make your direct deposit selection.
Once setup is complete, direct deposits usually start showing up in your GO2bank account within 1-2 payroll cycles.
TIP: Ask your payroll department how long it will take them to set up your direct deposit. If it takes longer than expected to receive your first direct deposit, check back with your payroll department. GO2bank does not have any information about your direct deposit enrollment status."
When I tried to set up a DD from a bank account at my initial Go application 9 months ago, Go sent the DD back. I then had to use my company to set up the DD. It appears that the GD had tightened up their DD requirements prior to their instituting their new Go2 bank.
I am also certain that GD could determine where a DD was coming from, i.e. an employer versus a bank checking account.

They could be kicking those back if the originating account isn't a business checking account And/Or if the names of the sending entity matches your name exactly. One solution would be to just get a business checking account from somewhere like Chase, and use some variation of your name as business name.
I've been sending my "DD" as ACH from a random local CU and so far it works.

Where would employer's DD come from? Also a checking account.

When did you set up your Go Bank DD account? I tried what you did and the DD was returned to my Chase checking account. That was 9 months ago. I then had to use my business to DD the money to Go which did work. If your DD was done further back then mine, maybe Go changed their rules by the time I attempted to do my DD.
Second. Business checking accounts are almost always fee based. They either have monthly fees, minimum activity levels or fees for money movement (check payments, deposits etc.). I can assure you that business checking accounts cost much more than the $4/mo. that Go would charge for their Go2 bank account.
Finally, I suspect that if you are not being moved to Go2, then your current DD situation will not change (I certainly hope that is the case). However, if your account is going to be migrated to Go2, then you are going to fall under the Go2 T&Cs for DD. We will just have to wait to see how that falls out starting in November.

I suspect that making a DD from a business checking account may have worked for Go. But I now have 2 queries about that approach now.

You can go for the $750 Chase biz checking bonus right now, and try this out. After the initial hoops to jump through, it's only a $2k/mo balance requirement OR $2k /mo spend on an Ink card, which is peanuts for most of us with ODOM....and we do it anyway.
I'm just wondering how they can tell legit DD, and only 2 ways I can think of are business checking and/or different name on the ACH sender. They can't possibly know the names of every single business in existence, and there's no special form of ACH or checking account for companies or small businesses.

As anticipated, my original GoBank Visa was loaded today 9/17 at WM with NO FEE. Register and WM load receipt still explicitly states:
SWIPE FEE 0.00
So GB Visa without fees (for me) appears to be good until 10/31, when this card can no longer be used per the GoBank - Go2Bank transition letter received. I have not activated nor do I have any plans to activate this new Go2Bank card prior to then. Future fees will determine if I even bother with it.

Again, I have not received any e-mails or notices of a swipe fee on this card, but it appears to be there now. I did a free load yesterday, so I know this was not the case prior to today. Looks like a cheaper MO is going to be needed going forward unless any other suggestions are out there.
$3.74 per $500 is not going to be in my future plans.

Welp, today 9/21 on my original GB Visa, I saw a $3.74 swipe fee show up when trying to load at WM. I canceled the transaction and had the cashier try the load again. Once I swiped my card, the $3.74 fee showed up again, so another cancel of that transaction.

My old accounts were GB MC. Like others here have reported, I received new GB MC Chip cards, not GB2 cards.

I can confirm 3.74 fee is in effect today 9-21 for GoBank Visa (opened early 2014).
It's possible they're rolling out fee in batches depending on card network. I definitely wouldn't count on the MC version remaining fee-free until 10-31.

Tried this AM using my old Go MC version to load $20 at reliable WM and got the $3.74 charge
Received absolutely no notifications for this charge or change.
Will activate my new Go MC chipped version asap and try it as well. However, looks like another round of "discussions" needed with Go CS
