This thread is a continuation of the previous discussion located here.

See post #412 - Ordering gc's thru the Kroger site will post fuel points to the associated shopper card upon shipment of physical cards and email delivery for e-gc's. Points are earned in the same increments as if you bought them at the store (usually 2x or 4x if there is a promotion). Transactions are processed by GiftCardMall and therefore do not earn additional points/cb from your credit card issuer for a "supermarket purchase".

Thanks for the data point. I have some more MS I need to do over the next few days on some Amex cards, so I'll be heading to a few different locations (big city with 20+ locations) and testing the waters. It's possible that it is either a local issue as well. As long as it's not hard coded, I'll keep it up, but will just make note of cashiers/locations that enforce the rule.

YMMV based on location. I've seen locations where they take a $1 off at Shell and other locations where it's only 10c.

Always YMMV when it comes to this. I can go to one location where I have the righteous cashier who will deny me, but then go down the road 5 miles to the next Kroger with no issue. Personally, when this happens, I make a mental note not to not get a MO when that cashier is near by (I'm sure they make a mental note of me as well). If I have more than 2-3 cashiers block me at a location, then I chalk it up to that store is dead and move to the next one.

.98 - .10 = .88

Money order cost has gone up to 88 cents. That’s after Plus card 10 cent discount. Not a lot, but it’s good to have your math worked out ahead of time.
this is in South Carolina .

4x Fuel Points on Happy Cards, digital coupon required

For those who haven't been reading the Office Depot thread, you have a 50/50 shot of being able to use the "Happy Guy" card to buy vgc at Home Depot. This deal isn't as good as the OD deal, but if you want it, it's there.

Currently better sale at Staples:

I still don't think the hassle is worth it for such a low denomination with issues of liquidating. Plus some moron on reddit Posted about doing an absurd amount in a transaction, to where the manger called the cops on him...

EDIT: Above Staples limits you to 1, but I suppose Kroger is unlimited with 4x fuel points back.

So... a cashier messed up my money order purchase at Kroger tonight and had to void the transaction... 2 of the 3 cards I swiped currently show a zero balance. Does it sometimes take a day or two for the funds to show up back on the card? Thankfully I have the void receipt, but would rather not have to deal with going back into the store to sort this out.

Yes, it will take a day or two to get back on your VGC. Has happened to me

I have read through a ton of these posts and did not see an answer:

I am looking at getting a lot of VGC from Si mon and want to know if anyone in Metro ATL has had recent success at Kroger for MOs with them?

Want to take advantage of the $1 off to do a big spend bonus.

Thanks!

Anyone ever have this happen at Kroger? After entering pin the processing lags. Eventually it says gives not authorized error. Just checked and it took 500 off the card. Receipt shows that card was declined. Does this self resolve after a few days or is this one of those things I'll have to talk with kroger or dispute? Was a gcc mgc for reference.

This happened to me once at Walmart and ended up having to dispute the card after the balance never went back.
