There is a minor possible loophole.
My letter states that the new restrictions are effective from the start of business on January 11.
In theory, a $500 load may be possible on the 11th if done before the start of business that day. However, I suspect that a some point their computers will be down to install the new software.
Possibly this will not happen until the wee hours of the morning, so one who stays up after midnight might get a load in.

Just checked NW Buxx terms again, and looks like they maybe changed the load limits? Now it's 200/week, not 500, and still 2/load. Knocks the profit off by more than half?
I loaded 500 onto 2 accounts yesterday no problem, with 500 onto my other 2 accounts scheduled next week. We'll see.

Citi will see collateral damage here from me.
Where I use my Citi DoubleCash card, I'll now go back to my Barclays A+ since I won't be paying the Citi card via debit. And I'll probably favor my other Citi cards less overall since I won't need that cashout mechanism for these Buxx cards.

Gah, just got my letter as well. I'm guessing now I'd definitely need a second teen card to meet min spend?

Bah, figures this would dry up, I just signed parent card setup a few days ago waiting for my SW cards to show up.
I'm wondering though.. I have 2 SW cards, and no Teens added yet. It seems like I could pretty easily drop $500 on 4 teens today, and then just slowly drain them all over the next few weeks? Still a quick 2k spend, right? Any reason that wouldn't work?

it's because of your cash advance limit. On chase cards, the authorization is as a cash advance but it posts as a purchase.

If the terms remain the same, you could certainly do $1600 on one CC, and $1600 on another CC with 4 different teen cards, though.

1% fee is not terrible compared with the alternatives, and you can pull money from an ATM and/or buy a MO fairly easily.
