Minimum spend to possibly pay mortgage
I have some pending minimum spend and some travel redemption needs with a CC that will cancel in July.
Forgive if this post doesn't totally fit the category chosen, please. I have not done a moneygram before. Would like to try a mortgage payment on a CC. One for June, one for July. My escrow went up unexpectedly and we presently pay for two households. I could use a bit of strategy help for two months. Has anyone done this well and successfully? I see that on the MG site, there is caution that the CC payment will be viewed as a CA. Is there a way around that? Have heard that one can call and get the CA portion of the CC account "turned off". Is that the first step for what I am trying to do? I also have a prepaid debit card (a real one). Got it for another purpose but that venue spend is no longer valid for me. BTW, is there a current purpose where a prepaid card is of help these days? I just need some guidance. Please no lectures on finance. I keep my emergency fund stocked, per se. I don't want to use it and have it look like all my work with this hobby was in vain. Thanks in advance! :) |
Just buy a few vgc's on your cc and buy money orders with them to pay mortgage. You will get hit with CA fee if paid directly with cc.

Check out redbird
I used this trick to pay my mortgage with my Sapphire card to meet the minimum spend. Just load with a CC at a Target store and then use the online bill pay to pay your mortgage. I wouldn't really recommend if you live in NC or AR, but everywhere else it works great and doesn't count as a CA. Good luck!

Nvm
Whoops, nvm, apparently they stopped the CC reloads on Target Redbird on 5/6...sorry! But it seems that if you buy a PIN based GC with your CC and then use that to load the Redbird then you can still use the bill pay feature to pay a mortgage..more info here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/+NoonRad...ts/QZ1eCSFrdCG
Just be careful ;) |
I purchase reloadit cards then use them to pay my mortgage with evolve money.
