Has anyone found a card that classifies Plastiq as a bonus category? I know its a longshot but figured its worth asking.

They have a merchant code of 'BUSINESS / PROFESSIONAL SERVICES' at VISA. I don't know of any cards that offer bonuses for that category. Let us know if you find one.

I think prostitutes also use that merchant category.

I do it on occasion; but Value Tax Payments is only a 1.87% (credit card) convenience fee (Visa/Mastercard/AMEX).

Verification

Opened an account. Set up a payment for a business invoice of $12+K using 7 amex gift cards. Received the following email.
Hi,
Thank you for using Plastiq, the payments service that give cardholders the power of choice! Our top priority is cardholder security, and as such we manually review all of our transactions daily. We reviewed your recent transaction with Plastiq and we need to gather some more information in order to complete this transaction. Please send over an invoice/rental agreement for our risk team to review. In addition, please click on the link below to be redirected to our secure identity verification service. You will be prompted to take a picture of yourself as well as of a form of photo ID, so please have that ready. In addition, this verification can only be completed on a computer, not a cell phone.

Please get back to us at your earliest convenience. If we do not receive a response within the next 48 hours, we will refund the transaction. My sincere apologies for any inconvenience, and please let me know if you have any questions.
Best Regards,
Account Services
Anyone else experienced this?

Were you able to split the payment, or did it go through as 7 separate payments?

7 separate payments. Not sure that is a viable plan.

On 8/4, I initiated payment for my HELOC and as of today, no payment has been posted by my bank. Plastiq say they mailed the check on 8/5.

Same... they said my payment was supposed to go through by today, but my mtg co hasn't received anything. I'm glad it was only a test payment and not my full monthly...
