So....from what I'm reading....Plastiq seems to work for a mortgage payment even if my company isn't on the 'official' list in the wiki? I would so love for this to work.... anyone have experience with daycare center payments? Or no...?

Plastiq simply mails a check to whatever person or company you specify.

Need some clarification - still confused from previous comments. Can chase cards be used to pay an auto loan through Plastiq? Wanting to fulfill minimum spending on a CSP.

I have Plastiq mail a check to my roommate in my own house for rent. I assume nothing is off limits. But if they ask for verification, have something ready to send them.

I've paid my auto loan using an Ink and United card successfully. Can't imagine it wouldn't work for CSP if it worked for them.

The "official list in the wiki" is not official at all. It's just a compilation of people's reports of their experiences.

It should work with any mortgage company, but I would pay well in advance of your deadline. Plastiq seems to have gotten better, but not too long ago they were taking forever to issue payments. (And they are a bit silly about electronic payments: when I set up my mortgage payment to one of the 5 largest banks in the country, the Plastiq website told me that because the recipient doesn't accept electronic payments, they would be mailing a check. Which they did.)

Also, as others have suggested, make sure you have a bill ready to show them in case they ask. I'd guess they probably won't ask unless your mortgage company is someone's name or otherwise looks like it might be a front for an individual (e.g., "John Smith, LLC"). Even under those cases they should still issue the check, but they would want verification that it's for a legitimate expense.

It can be whatever amount that you want it to be. Yes, you can send multiple payments.

Pay estimated taxes

Has anyone used this to pay estimated taxes with the 1.75% rate? I'd like to, but in order to get the rate I have to use Plastiq's payee information, and the addresses come up wrong for someone in New York. The IRS address is in the wrong state, and the New York address is pretty close but the wrong PO box number. And the payee (whom the check would be made out to) doesn't exactly match. I don't see a way to edit these without entering new payee information and losing the promotional rate.

If I make a tax payment with Plastiq this week but the payment arrives AFTER 4/15, will I be penalized? The 4/15 is a postmark date, so I'm assuming the govt will just go by the date Plastiq actually sends out the check.

I've been using Plastiq, for the last 4 months, to pay my mortgage, extra pymt to mortgage for principal balance only, HOA, utility, etc.

All of it works and on time (knocks on wood).

Chase credit cards work, as I use my Chase Ink Biz Plus and my Chase Marriott (for min. spend). Could try other cards, but I like the UR value I get.

I made a payment with wrong (but still active) credit card - last night to a mortgage company. Left a message to plastiq. Is there any chance to cancel the payment? Thanks.

Yes, there is a chance. I've successfully canceled payments. You might want to contact them via live chat as well.

I would personally much rather use pay1040.com with 1.87% fee (all cards) rather than mess with Plastiq's check by mail 1.75% (MasterCard only).

You are right. The customer support of Plastiq responds to the request and cancels the payment.
