Buxx cards can only be loaded with a Visa or MasterCard.

NW Buxx

•Initial purchase fee: $5 (waived with promo code: 02050053 - ( the promo code appears to be working consistently)

•Max load per rolling 7 days: $500
•Max load per rolling 30 days: $1,000
•Max ATM per week: ($200 - but only if specifically enabled online, including PIN setup). No fee for some Allpoint ATMs (no way to know in advance if the Allpoint ATM will ding you $1; check your account carefully and call if necessary to reverse the $1 charge…IME 2/3 Allpoint ATMs do charge the fee).
•Max spend per rolling 7 days: $800
•Max # of CC on file is 2.
•Max balance per card: $1000
•Max of 2 loads per CC per 7 day rolling period.

If you card fails to load, check to see if there are at least 7 calendar days between loads, make sure the load won't bring your card above the maximum balance, or try the other CC.

Funding with Citi cards codes as a purchase for NW Buxx.

ugh... just signed up for this and was trying to get everything working. Promptly get dinged 3x $1 for "ATM Balance Inquiry Fee". I am probably dumb, but this might need to be in the FAQ.

Does it matter whether I choose "saving" or "checking" when withdrawing at the ATM? I used saving and it worked, but I am wondering what would happen otherwise.

There's enough reports here and other forums that some ATMs charge $1 fee and its lot of hassle to get that waived.
I use PNC atm and always select checking. Never been charged with $1 fee.

I am pretty sure I got the $1 fee because I checked the account balance, not because of the withdrawal. I am not sure if it could be waived at all.

I looked through the thread, and in the wiki, but couldn't find anything like this:

Does this initial load for two cards count against the 7 day rolling maximum?

I just set up my third and fourth cards, and received the first two in the mail. Is it possible for me to fund 2x500 on the first two right now or do I wait 7 days?

I wouldn't mind having to wait, but it would be nicer if I could just load now.

Thanks

I had to wait. You can try loading money via manual load and see if it works.

All,

When I tried to sign up for NW BUX it asked me credit card info. Did you guys experience any charge on this?

No charge for just putting the info in, but the initial charge will load onto the first teen card you get.

i also was charged $1 for (accidently) selecting 'check account balance' on an ATM that i've never been charged to withdrawal. hidden fee... should maybe be in the wiki. "Don't check your balance on an ATM, it might cost $1 even on ATMs that don't charge fees for withdrawals"

Just in the process of signing up for NW, got to what looks like the next-to-last page, but if there's a place to enter a promo code, I'm missing it. Where is it exactly in the signup process?

Keeping in mind the website looks to be from 1999, so it looks different than most spots for promo codes, it is on the very bottom of the first page

Guys, just curious why people don't use the ATM option more rather than calling Citi and paying off the card....is it just more convenient? And it seems like one dollar is not that big of a deal..right? Are other CC's able to be paid with buxx too?

Well its a dollar per withdrawal, which is limited to 200 per card. That would be 5x a month on each card, on each 4 cards.

Thats $20 in fees plus 20 trips to the ATM per month (60 and 60 over three months).

Its either that or call citi at $800, $700, $800, $700 over a three month span for each card, so 16 times.

60 and 60 or 16 calls. You do the math.

max spend per rolling 7 days per card is $800. In an effort to minimize the crap you have to do, you want to spend as much as possible as often as possible.

800+700+800+700 fits the $500 add nicely as well as the $800 spend max. it adds up to 3000 as well, which is 3 months worth of loading.

So over 3 months on each card you can call citi 4 times, or you can visit the ATM 15 times and also pay $15.
