What a frustrating experience switching from Serve to Serve with Softcard.

The Softcard Android app seems to send me to the regular Serve mobile site where I can only load up to $200 a day. I even got declined for trying $500. BUT, if I log in on my own at serve.com I can load with the Softcard limits up to $500 a day.

Transfer to bank acct

My first post here, but I'm not n00b to MS.

Wiki states that you can transfer money to your bank. I can't find that in my serve account. It is only money in, not out. What am I missing?

First, go to Settings -> Banks & Cards, you can link your bank account there.
Then, Settings -> Withdraw Funds. There, you can transfer money from Serve to bank account.

Loaded Serve with the Citi DC MC throughout Jan and again Feb 1 w/o any CA fee.

Also, you can call up Citi and have them decrease your CA to $0.

bigugly Feb 3, 15 5:02 pm

It's not prominently displayed... You have to go to (I think, it has been a couple months since I have done it) settings, top right of screen, and you will find it.

Transfers

Awesome! Found it. They purposefully designed so that it is not obvious. Suckers.

What are the limits then? Nothing on bank transfers. Only 2k to add each month.

I spend plenty on cc to meet the minimums but this is just a cherry on top of the cake.

ReloadIt still can be used to load Serve?

I saw Serve is no longer listed as partner on ReloadIt website.

Also the pack I saw hanging in my grocery store does not display anything other than Netspend. It also does not have "cash only" on the pack which used to be printed with BIG LETTERS and has been the reason I could not buy it with CC.

On Serve site it still mentions ReloadIt can be used to add cash to Serve.

Can someone posts the latest data on ReloadIt > Serve?

At one point Reloadit site listed Serve as partner...but then took it down probably because too many people were asking about when Serve was going to accept Reloadit. When Serve finally started to accept Reloadits, the Reloadit site never got updated to state that Serve is an official partner. Rest assure that Reloadits are able to be loaded to Serve.

So it works just like the VR worked for BB in the old days? If so, then it is a much better alternative.

Since PayPower is often out of stock and now there is no stinky wordings on the RI in my grocery store, I might try to buy 1 and see if it is hardcoded at the grocery store's register.

Worked today with SERVE. Reloadits are my primary focus for loading SERVE.

Yes they work just like VR in the old days.

Even with the online credit loads for Serve, it is only max 12k a year but significantly more hassle to load Debit/GCs at WM (3 cards per transaction) or FD ($500 a day), compared to loading Debit/GCs at Target plus capability of loading with CC too at Target.

For me, it's only for the Amex Offers. If nothing else, Small Business Saturday is amazing! Otherwise, I would be switching all of my accts to Redcard. Plus not everyone has access to getting Redcards and don't trust buying them from a stranger on the internet.

I have loaded $2000 reloadit to serve. I called serve CS. Rep told me reloadit still works with serve for 2015.

Yeah... If Redcard worked in NC, I would have switched already, at least one or my accounts anyway. Amex offers are nice, though, it makes up some of the difference for not being able to load directly at Target fee-free.

Any one tried loading your Serve account with the new Citi Double cash card recently? Did you get hit with CA? Received the cashbacks?
Thanks

stupidzbu Feb 4, 15 5:36 pm

I've got an interesting situation

- 3 ATT iphones. Bought cashwrap case, signed up for ISIS serve @ ATT, returned case after serve permanent card received

- loaded $1500/month on all 3 accounts for 2 years

- Switched to 12/14 Tmobile. They don't offer Softcard, even with the special SIM card.

- Loaded 1.5k @ $500/day on each account Jan 2015. Loaded $1k on each card via $500 daily loads in Feb.

I logged in to do my last $500 load and get an error message "That transaction will cause you to exceed your daily limit. "

Tried to load $200, same error. I did receive 3 emails telling me that my softcard was deactivated and that they would remove my SERVE card from the ISIS wallet app, but that was in Jan.

I will try again tomorrow because I did do that last load late last night and I'm hoping they switched it to a rolling 24 hour load instead of some time around midnight

thoughts?

All limits reset at 12 AM EST (9 PM PST). You have been doing this for 2 years and you still don't know this? If you loaded $500 at 8:50 PM PST, you can reload another $500 at 9:01 PM PST. Most likely you loaded past 12 AM EST which counts as the next day and then tried to reload later on that day which is not allowed.

no, i had no idea about that. I loaded the cards at 20:30 PST, so that makes sense. I guess I will try again tomorrow.

I am still having trouble AMEX confirming my account. I loaded once $200 and now I can't load a second time or get the $200 out. They keep sending secure e-mails to upload 100000 items. Then I upload and they cancel the transaction.

Has anyone tried loading the Serve card directly @ walgreens?

The moneypaks, as of right now, are no longer for sale anywhere, and moneypak website now brings me to this:
https://www.attheregister.com/locations

while the good news is that both cvs and walgreens are listed on there, i don't see Serve listed as one of the re loadable cards. I stopped by Walgreens a few days ago and they didn't know what i was talking about - although i didn't have my serve card with me to actually give a load a try.

anyone have any more info on this, or better yet had success of lading serve at walgreens directly?

Send Multiple Cards at one time

As most have discovered, their security verification is an incredible hassle (Must be expensive for them too, such that they will probably have to do something, either change the rules, or stop accepting credit cards, or drop the product entirely).

It appears that one can put a number of credit cards and documents on one scan, or fax. It might pay to put all the cards one might use together (2% cards and ones you need to spend a certain amount on) and send once. Then on a later phone call one can ask them to look at the previous fax for the new card.

Multiple identifications might be useful, since I have had them complain that faxes were too dark to read. If driver's license is unreadable, possibly a passport might be.

No reason to do faxes. Just use your cell phone to take pictures of the cards and upload. Quick and simple. However your advice is still good.

I link my card to Serve then upload the images from my phone to the Serve link I was first asked to use with my 1st inquiry, then wait a few days for an email saying I'm good to go. Did this twice so far with no issues and no more calls to Serve.

Ttitle Feb 5, 15 5:46 pm

Once I link a bank account for a transfer, and then delete it ( to add a different bank account), can I re-link the bank account later (does Serve remember the linked account or do I have to go through the verification process again)?

You can re-link it later but you'll have to verify it again either by entering your login information or initiating trial deposits.

Hi, everyone. I am fortunate enough to be an area where there are quite a few functioning KATEs. In the past, I was able to load three of my $500 VGC at the Kiosk before the manager approval came on, but now all of them only let me do two loads before they lock me out. Anyone have similar issues with this?

*Side note: Even though I'm lucky to have all these KATEs I have to deal with these really judgy managers that like to comment on what I'm doing. About a week ago, I had a person from the Money Center come up to me and cancel my load and contacted a manager. I had a fit with the manager because their employee had the audacity to approach me the way they did. The manager apologized but said that higher ups have warned them to be on the lookout for people like us and not allow us to do what we're doing. She said what I was doing was called structuring, and it was illegal. I told her I don't think loading my Serve card with my own money was illegal, but I agreed to disagree and left. Anyone care to comment on this?

So..I got a new Citi card in the mail since my old one expired, activated it and loaded $500 to serve and it posted as a cash advance...Am I the only one experiencing this or am I crazy?

Do not use Visa cards from Citi.

NathanL104 Feb 6, 15 7:22 am

I tried to load my card today at FD, and got to the 'approved screen' after swiping my VGC. After that the system never got past that point; no recepit, and then eventually a 'declined' screen comes up. However, there is $500 in serve account. I see several debits and credits on the VGC page, but my available balane on the VGC is $500.

I assume serve will correct itself and debit out the $500 tomorrow. Is something going on with serve loads today? is this a one-off?

Preacher7 Feb 6, 15 7:58 am

I tried linking my Chase IHG card to make online loads, but it said Card Issuer declined this action. Has anyone else received that with the IHG card?

heyeaglefn Feb 6, 15 8:06 am

Yes, IHG card does that for everyone and usually doesn't work.

Thank you guys for the info.

Correct me if I am wrong in my understanding as I have never used it before, the pack I saw has only Netspend printed on the top left hand corner of the front, nothing else indicates it can be used to load other prepaid cards. It does not matter as there is only one type of ReloadIt, right?
To load, use the ReloadIt site and the Quick Load on the front page is the function used to load Serve.

Did you open a Safe?

Again, thank you for your kind replies.

I started having issues on Feb 1 when the store I buy them regularly with CCs failed to activate after payment went through. No problem dealing with them since they made it right for me when RL said it was a store issue of failed activation. I went back to a different branch yesterday, the manager tried the new white RL packs and none of them would scan  None of the regular PayPower nor PP travel cards also scanned :( Something is definitely going on behind the scenes, I'm sad that there's a lot of these cards but none of them would scan and RL customer service don't have answers. Definitely a game changer for me.
