I'd say that Jewel-Osco and Mariano's are now the largest Chicago area supermarkets.

Gonna have to take a trip across the border to visit some Jewels then. Used to be able to hit Roundys (Pick N Save) hard but they recently went cash only. Marianos is Roundys as well so I can almost guarantee that you won't have any luck there. As a side note, I think Roundys realized that their stranglehold on Milwaukee is starting to slip, so they've really pushed to make up for it with a strong push into Chicagoland. We also have Meijer opening in our area very soon, wherein I know you can buy the $200 fixed ones at the self checkout - lower profit but very convenient.

I asked Discover and the answer I got was that "it should be included".

Which I guess means it's still a guess, since they didn't say "will"

My local Fred Meyers do not give fuel points on VGC (or even their own gift card). I image that these would count towards the Chase 5x, though. Anyone know for sure?
Can easily be answered by going to Chase/Freedom's website.

AFAIK non of the Kroger outlets does earn fuel points on the variable load GCs. Just tried it yesterday out of curiosity @ Ralphs. Fuel points this order: 0. But I think you get (sometimes even double) FP on the fixed value GCs...

I go to Chicago a lot and was there New Years day and put some money on my CTA card with Discover for the cash back. I see it posted on my statement as Ventra and as travel/entertainment instead of CTA and transportation services, hopefully this doesn't mean making a call to discover

Yes the limit is that 7-11 is cash only unless you're very lucky. In other words: YMMV a lot

For me, definitely 1 UR ≥ 2 cents.

This obviously assumes 1 UR = 1 cent.

That's right. Hyatt is my main transfer partner from UR and there is some incredible value there especially at the category 5 and 6. 1 UR >>>>>>>>>> 2 cents.

Double dip on my DS.

Used mostly gas transactions to hit my $2K spending which finished up the overlapping $300 cashback promotion.

7-11 is very store dependent. It is NOT a corporate hard code. Brand new stores often work best. When I have time I try to go to every one in my area just to see if it'll work. If it doesn't just move on. If it works try to remember that employee to try with them next week.

So I could buy three cards at one time? No limit on the register?
