AMEX sync 30% off hotels?

It appears in my Sync offers, and didn't find any discussion on this so starting a new one.

The link is http://amex.co/hotel30. The price on the site is comparable to other OTAs. I suppose I will get 30% back in statement credit after booking. Is it a good deal am i missing something?

If this worked with FHR bookings it might be worth it to me and others but the T&C say FHR bookings don't count. Seems useless to people on an MS forum otherwise since we're likely MS points for hotels anyway.

30% back is certainly a good deal if you were going to book anyway.

If you book Hilton (or another chain) through them do you still get Hilton points and elite benefits?

How do I know the participating hotels?
Is 30% amount is reflected on booking price or 30% is credit given on booking price?

This offer appeared in a few of my Amex accounts this morning. Worth checking to see if you got it.
