The banning on use of Amex gift cards, however, likely makes it cheaper to buy $500 cards at a grocery store since you can use the Amex gift card trick there. That cut my heart out as I was actually making money....

I was using the cards the other day at a Wally and a cashier was giving me an odd look. So than she asks me, "where do you get these cards?" I told her I buy them on my miles card to redeem for flights. She's like "ahhh, ok". I think that put her at ease, lol.

It depends on the mall. Some require form over 3k, some require form when you buy >3 GC, some don't sell >3k/day to you (lazy with paperwork?)

They ran out of the design I wanted (sarcasm, like I care what design they give me)

They always have tons of cards at the Simon mall near me. I think we don't have a lot of people buying them for MS.

Same with me. It's never an issue. They offered me the holiday themed cards last time but I just stick with the generic ones so it looks like they have a ton in stock.
