We just got back from Orlando and tried Simon Mall at the Florida Mall, where they would only sell us $1,000 in GC's. Then we went to the Premium Outlet Mall off of Highway 535 and I-4, and they also only allowed $1,000. When we asked why the limit, the guy said there is such a demand for the cards, they literally cannot keep them on the shelves.

Looking at the crowds in both malls, I can see what he meant. Going to Orlando again next month and hoping to stock up in four or five visits.

Funny how some malls don't care about volume, while others are very concerned.

So weird. I tried two different Family Dollars today and the registers beeped as soon as I swiped my Simon Mall VGC. I even tried calling the number and setting a pin beforehand and still no go.
Anyone else have similar experience?

I tried it 2 days ago at my local FD and it went thru with no problem with my Simon VGC. Did you wait until it says "Please Slide Card"?. I noticed there was 4-5 sec delay after you swipe your Serve card and tell the cashier your load amount.

You can use Simon VGC for MOs. I went to WM 2 days ago to get $2k in MOs (using 4 cards) but the cashier didn't know the money order printer was down so she gave me back $2K in cash. I'm praying for a printer breakdown next time lol.

Did you have to do anything to the Simon VGC beforehand like setting a pin or something?

The PIN is the last four digit of the card, unless you want to change it to something else.

I didn't change the PIN. As byroshi said, the PIN is the last 4 digits of your card.

This happened to me last month. The agent told me that my acct was new and blocked it for fraud protection. He lifted the block within a couple of minutes. I don't think they will give you a hard time for making 2.5K in SM gcs.

Sadly, I gave up the Simon game due to this, too. They also quit selling me the 1K card, and had to go back to $500. Not sure if I will still play this game without being able to use AMGC.

With only a $2.95 fee it's still pretty profitable on cards like arrival
