For my cashback only cards, ASAP!
For Discover - when I find a gift card that I like so I can get the extra 10% or w/e.
Chase/Arrival - Saving for when I have something to redeem towards or transfer out to.

Thanks. I didn't realize that Discover had any special bonuses outside of their normal day to day gift cards. I will look out for them. For Chase, we'll see. I pretty much plan to keep these though for transfer partners.

Chase URs were interesting a few years back when they had a huge BF sale with Best Buy. I know a few of us on SD held points for the next couple years just in case lightning struck twice, but sadly it hasn't. I have over 100k URs atm but my travel's covered for the year.
