Issues with GiftCardMall

In January, my first GCM purchase (liquidating an AGC) went fine.

Last week, my second order appeared to go fine. I received an order confirmation, and my AGC was charged.

My third order, today, was apparently denied for information matching. However, the charge is there, albeit pending.

In trying to figure out what is wrong with order 3, I discovered that order 2 was actually cancelled, but the charge has not been reversed. The CSR said it should have been by now and filed a report.

Anyone else have issues combining AGC and GCM?

You should be fine. AMEX GC's are usually pretty good about reversing the charge if it is cancelled, or declined in this case. It takes about 1-2 weeks, but it happens. It's happened more than once to me now and never fails to re-credit.

Two of my orders at GCM got canceled that I had used an AMEX GC to purchase. The CSR said it would take 5 business days for the pending transaction to reverse. It ended up taking 5 business days and a weekend but the failed transaction did eventually fall off of my AMEX GC.

I then used the same AMEX GC to submit a new order and it went through just fine. So jus be patient and then try again.

When you call to register the AGC if the CSR misunderstands something in your name or address, then it won't match up when GCM runs the charge.

The hold is still there, but the transaction gets cancelled and IME the hold goes away after 7 days if the transaction isn't finalized.

I saw AGC, read that as "Amazon GC" and got a MS stiffy for a second....

Well that was a let down....

Same here! Oh well.

I'm reviving this because I got declined today for the first time. This was my 4th order in a month. All of them were on different AMEX Giftcards. Same denial regarding information matching.

1) I've never called in the past to register the AGC. It just "worked". Do I need to do that?

2) Any particular reason why I was denied this time and not others? Or is it just random with GCM?

Just realized this is the same thread I made the comment about previously....

Loss of Rebate

Just before CVS end on Vanilla, I started supplementing with VGC's from Giftcardmall. First 2 months for both of us went fine. Started at only 1k per order, then to 2k. Last 3 orders did not post rebate as before. Finally decided to open customer service request with Ebates for 4/2 order. Got the standard reply yesterday - no rebates on Visa gift cards. Looks like this avenue may be closed. Anyone else still getting the 1% rebate on straight up orders through Ebates portal?

I have been looking through multiple threads on this forum for a couple of hours now for an answer to a relatively simple question, but cannot find it.

Does Chase charge a cash advance fee for GiftCardMall and does it create any red flags with Chase to purchase a $500 Visa/Amex/MC gift card there?

I just want to buy a $500 Visa/Amex/MC, don't care which variety, gift card for my niece's graduation. It is not MS. But with the way Chase has been acting lately, I don't want to draw any undue attention to me. There seems to be a lot of posts about credit denied or account closures where Chase sites MS. Looking at this forum, though, maybe those are a minority of people. I hope so.

Is there a better place to buy a $500 Visa/Amex/MC with my Ink Plus than GiftCardMall?

Thank you for any help in advance.

Chase does not charge as a CA.

Anyone know if Citi charge GCM purchases as CA?
