great presentation.

Food for thought, slide 14 iirc. =)

If you want to blend in, shop more at grocery and gas, less at pharmacy.

Not really. A guarantee that it will last 18 months does not imply that it will therefore disappear after that time. Market conditions will determine that, and if other 2% cards are still around, they'd likely keep theirs.

Slide 14 is only set out that way because a lower spend at pharmacies is a better outcome for that card in comparison to the other cards shown.

Maybe existing cardholders will be grandfathered in, maybe they will introduce a cap. If anyone is holding back on getting this card, you may want to get it sooner rather than later.
I disagree, the last sentence is a commitment to maintain the current rewards structure for a minimum of 18 months. No high level executive is going to make a commitment longer than that for a cash back card (much easier to do with a mile/point card if you know of a planned devaluation or discount on points). A better reason to get the card sooner is that it currently comes with a $75 sign up bonus.

So a loss of $75 is the better option? I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say.

Let me get this straight, you've had success using WM BP with a VISA Signature credit card. I'm pretty sure that's a first.

If they get rid of the 2%, the card becomes almost worthless. Why would anyone carry around an Amex when Visa cards will then offer rewards that are just as good? I love the Fidelity 2% Amex, but I would never keep it if it did not offer better rewards than my Visas do (I have not MasterCards).
