So i went to Walmart in Niles, IL and cashier (with manager) completely refused to sell MO or load BB with "these cards that dont have your name on it". And they say it's okay if I use the money center machine but the d*mn machine is broken, as always. Gosh they're so stupid, what is the difference if I can use it on the machine vs use it at the money center?

They were probably told by the manager not to accept GCs to load BB or buy MOs and could get in trouble if they're caught. I've had this happen to me before - cashier who previously told me they don't accept GCs just stood there and did nothing when I loaded through the MC kiosk.

If they find it, don't argue with them.. Try again later with someone else or just move on to different walmart.. Now you gave them the idea to never fix the kiosk and remember you for a while..

I must have 50+ cards now. Good grief, I guess I went bananas. It's going to be a job liquefying these and yet the promotion week is only half over. It feels wrong to stop. Seems hardly any ms'ers in my area. Anyone have a limit where they feel they must stop for fear they won't be able to convert these into accounts or MOs?

Dang the regions I'm in. In SoCal I was able to get 5x200 after the FUBAR (had 6 put away for me until the code worked, but only ended up buying 5 since it wasn't any better to get the 6th). Traveled to the SLC area and the two stores I've been to are tapped out of 200's. Plenty of 100's though. Picked up 10x100 tonight. Might get lucky on Friday or Saturday back home, but probably not.

For the target amex prepaid -- isn't $3 a load pretty cost prohibitive for a $100 or even $200 GC? What am I missing?
Edit: Split payments... Duh... I guess $3 is not that bad for $1k
Has anyone ever tried 10x$100 in one Target visit?

had the funniest incident when I was offloading these VGC's onto my BB at WM yesterday.. after the first $600 ($200*3), the manager who was standing next to the cashier insisted that I hand over the gift cards to her as they need to collect those for fraud prevention.. I agrued for a minute that it can't be true, but she wouldn't budge.. I couldn't care less, so I let her have them, but I was just surprised that they did that..
I simply went to another cashier where the manager wasn't monitoring and no such rule came up again.. anyone else had such an experience..??

OM managers are hiding the $200 cards to force you you to buy 5 100 cards, instead of a 200 and a 50.
If you took $12.00 from their store they would call the Police,
Had the cashier open the magic door last night, when she pushed me to buy 2 100 and a 50,
Why buy for people who we do not trust.
They do this to increase business, instead of taking care of business.

And if you shoplift $12 from their store they should by all means be calling the police....

pretty broad generalization here considering many of us had no issues finding $200s and no issues buying $200s. At each store I went to the first day, there were $200s on the rack and the managers at all the stores went in search of more for me.... I experienced nothing less than great customer service.
And if you shoplift $12 from their store they should by all means be calling the police....

My shock was when the cashier opened the Magic Door, cashier was helpful, manager was ripping the customers off.

I dont see much fact in your post. How do you know they were hiding them and just hadnt restocked? I found some behind the magic door too, but the area was such a mess and Ive never actually seen anyone restock the shelves without being asked for something not on the shelves. Unless the manager came up to you and said "we dont want you to buy $200s because we are losing money so we hid them" I wouldnt consider any assumption on your part to be fact. Also, most employees are not well versed in these deals. Last time $200 cards were specifically excluded, they probably remembered that and thought that was the case this time. All the employees Ive encountered thought you had to buy the $250 exactly. I pointed out where it said "over" and they were all like oh, ok, we will try it...
