How do you set a PIN for OV online? I've always used any 4 numbers at the keypad. Never a problem.

Call the 800 number on the back of the card. Go thru the prompts. Option 8 clears the pin. I've had to do this occasionally when wally mart could not process the card for unknown reasons. Always worked the next day after clearing the pin.

The funds on the card will not be unloaded if the transaction fails. I been thru this a few times with Wally Mart clerk mess-ups. Call the number on the card to verify that the funds are still there and use option 8 to clear the pin.

It seems like the problem is purchasing MO with OV debit card. No mention of loading BB with OV debit card. is this right so all is good for loading BB?

Not sure about BB but there are reports in other threads that it still works. FYI, I successfully purchased a money order yesterday at Walmart using OV. So I don't think there is a problem with OV and MO.

OVs are working great for me. even when i have to hand over the card, cashier just looks at it and gives it right back.

I wanted to express my gratitude for this thread.

I had a problem with a One Vanilla for the first time after many many many OV cards. I went online and reset the pin twice. No effect. Finally I called Incomm and they said they saw I was buying money orders and it was a no no. I didn't argue the point.

I came here and found that the web site is unreliable about resetting the pin. Used the phone PIN reset and was finally able to use the card to purchase.... a money order.

Thanks.

The online traction will shows POS pin debit card sale. How would they know one is buying MO?

Alcibiades Apr 30, 2014 11:32 am

NSA provides information to Incomm ?!

I just had a MO purchase fail...the receipt shows both the money order amt and fee were voided out, but my OV still has a zero balance. Wondering what happened to my money. :(

Wal-mart MO w/ OneVanilla - "Wrong PIN" and "Tender not accepted"

I purchased $3k in OneVanilla yesterday and this morning combined. I went to Wal-mart this afternoon to purchase MO's. I hit DEBIT and entered a random four digits. It came back as wrong PIN. I tried again, and again it was denied. So I tried another card (since I had 6 of them) and also denied.

Same Wal-mart has a Kiosk so I tried at the Kiosk, and using a different one of the cards, and again, same thing, denied. In every case it said PIN was not accepted.

I went to a different Wal-mart and ran one of the cards successfully the first time. It was NOT the same card which was initially denied at the first Wal-mart. I did not try to run another because there were dozens of people waiting and the guy behind the counter didn't look too friendly.

I went home, checked the balance on my remaining 5 cards using the Vanilla Visa page, and the remaining 5 showed a full balance remaining. And only the one which I initially tried at the first Walmart indicated any attempt at a transaction in the transaction history, though it didn't really say much, just a date and time.

I then went back to Walmart a few hours later after a shift change and tried again. First card goes through fine and I purchased a single $499.30 money order for an even $500 after expenses paid. I then went to purcahse another $499.30 MO and was denied. This time, instead of "wrong PIN" I got some message about the "tender" I was using. Since there was no line and the kid behind the counter didn't seem to care, I went ahead and tried the other three cards. All were denied for the same reason.

I then went home and again checked the balance. None of the remaining four cards indicated anything on the transaction history relating to Walmart. I went ahead and registered my zipcode for one of them and then used it to send $500 on Amazon Payments. That transaction seems to have gone through, but who knows. I supposed it could still be denied. It shows as pending for the One Vanilla on Vanilla Visa.

I cleared the PIN's on the other three, and will be trying them again tomorrow. Any other thoughts? I miss VR's.

I saw someone mentioned making a <$1 purchase first at a register, setting the PIN there, then using it. I'd rather avoid that, but if it works then fine. Anyone else see any consistency in this solving my problem?

Thanks.

Thanks. I did read through all five pages of that prior to posting. There are some good things in there such as the $1 purchase, but a few unanswered questions.

1) Someone mentioned that resetting your PIN on the Vanilla Visa webpage is ineffective and you must call Incomm to get a true reset and have it work the next day.

2) One person who contacted Incomm said that they were aware that he was using the One Vanilla's to purchase MO's and that this is a no no. How would they know he was doing that? Are the One Vanilla's tied to the card that originally purchased them somehow? How else would they know that I'm going to use a One Vanilla to buy a MO if that OV card has never been used before and has no ties to me and my prior MO purchases?

On a side note.... I see people complaining that cashiers are declining the debit cards without names on them. My cashiers seem clueless.

Sounds like a pretty typical MS day. This stuff does not always go smoothly as you have learned there are often hickups along the way. Next time you go back your clerks might bark "no gift cards!" Now that would be a bad day. On the cards that didn't work I'd try resetting the PINs by phone.

And I need to spend $26k in 2 weeks, no more VR, OV is having problems, ughhh. lol, yes I need spg points for a big trip..

Agree ^:(

In areas with no Kates and hard core managers/reps ..that would be a pretty decent experience.
One Walmart here requires you hand over the card so they can check for embossed name and then they have to swipe on register...not you swipe on POS.
No kiosk.
There is No way past that action. THAT is a bad day.
