Kate will only allow load totals up to $1999.99 every 10 minutes. It does not matter if it was you or the person before you. If you go over that limit, Kate will freeze. Sept 2015- Several people have reported the 10 minute limit is now longer than 10. Not sure how much longer yet. Several Kate's have locked up following the old 10 minute rule.

9 digit pin problem - Sometimes, for unknown reasons, after you swipe your card and enter your pin, MCE will ask you for a 9 digit pin. To date, no one knows why this happens, or has a fix for it. If it repeatedly asks you for a pin, this is the same as the 9 digit pin problem and there is no fix.
Unplugging and re-booting by a supervisor doesn't fix this problem.

For consistent MCE issues, use the WM feedback link to report:
https://corporate.walmart.com/contac...orate-feedback
Select 'store experience' and be sure to include the store number and address. If you include your name and phone number the stores sometimes call when it is working again. Do not abuse this as it may lead to your MCE being removed.

How to shut Kate up by sosamo
  1. Before you press anything, plug the headphones into the jack near the pinpad
  2. The touchscreen will "gray" out, and you won't be able to press anything.
  3. Press '3' on the pinpad
  4. Press 'Enter' on the pinpad
  5. Continue business as usual on the touch screen.

Note: If you ever make a mistake, to get out, just unplug the headphone.

If you are only making a trip or two a month to wm it is worth the time to load the number of their service desk into your phone. Just ring them before making the trip and say, "Hi. The walmart ATM was out of order the other day. I wanted to check and see if it had been fixed." Usually you will get a polite answer. Just don't call every day. Will sound like an 'Is your refrigerator running" joke.

I've had a Wal Mart Money Center machine that apparently can't transfer information from the swiper/PIN pad to the touch screen. It beeps when you slide a card but the machine never recognizes that a swipe has occurred. This happens right at the Bluebird loading stage, so I've resigned myself to using other Wal Marts for gift card loads or going to the counter.

I guess I'm another one of the lucky ones. I've been going to the same Wal-Mart for a few months now and the kiosk always works. I've also never seen anyone else using it when I go. Usually in and out of there in 5 minutes or less. And as an added bonus, the last time I went the volume was off on the machine!! Hopefully it stays that way...

+1 Same for me. The volume is sometimes off for me too. I wish I knew how to do it.

Also, a little tip (that may have already been said). A few times on the first load the kiosk sometimes gets "stuck" and says "no charge" and nothing else. No price comes up and you can't hit "Finish & Pay." I have been able to fix this by pressing "Call For Help" and then hitting the "Back" button on the next page. Doing this twice makes it work for me.

WM kiosks are annoying

That's it. </rant>

I could do without half the questions and the ridiculously loud/slow voice instructions. Get's annoying when doing multiple swipes.

But I guess, still better than dealing with people.

I hate the loud instructions too... I could do without it yelling at me "YOUR TOTAL IS $1000". People around me must think I carry a lot of cash

Can I stick my headphone in the place where audio-impaired use a listening aid?

Mine was on silent mode for about 4 days - it was awesome. Then it returned to full blast audio.

Today I had a new experience - a guy came up behind me and asked how I was. Thankfully my transaction was almost done, but he was seriously invading my personal space. He had a sack of money so I thought he was going to use the coinstar beside the ATM, but nope, he used the ATM after me. Bizarre.

Speaking of the ATM, I think I've been swiping my GB card so much that I'm wearing out the stripe. I can't swipe at normal speed anymore - I have to swipe really slow for it to recognize the card as valid.

The kiosk at my local WM has NEVER spoken to me. I guess I should stop complaining about how slow it is

The kiosk saves 10 minutes of awkward interaction with a WM employee who probably thinks you are a money launderer or drug dealer. I love the kiosk.
