Stores that allow their GCs to be used to purchase other Visa/MC/Amex Gcs
Does anyone know of any stores that allow you to use their own store GC to purchase other GCs they sell ? Be nice to get a running list going so everyone may benefit.. I have heard Sears does but cannot confirm myself..

Also read about a few having success at Sears. I've had luck at Walmart before after getting shut down once at a different store. This is probably a YMMV thing depending on the area and manager's policies.

Yes, ones around here. It's cheaper to go to a WM store get a University VISA GC @ $4.94 for $500.

Remember you can get WM gift cards on Cardpool for 2-3% discount and also from mypoints if you get the email for 8 points per $ which is around four united miles.

No they wont. At least in my experience. Also I havent found a Walmart willing to take their gc for a variable card either.

That sucks. I never had any problem converting WM GC -> VISA GC around here. You might want to keep trying time to time if this route is useful for you because I learned that my nearest WM takes CCs for the University VISA although cashiers always declined to do so (I tried 3 - 4 times over 3 months). One day on a busy hour, a cashier decided not to care...and there it was. VISA GC with a CC. It might be the same story (WM GC -> VISA GC or CC -> VISA GC).

If you are doubting me, I don't mind putting a recent receipt showing you that WM GC -> VISA GC is possible depending upon a location.

Bought 504.94 with cc at Wm no problem the other day. Still not liking the fee but better than 200s at 6.95 for meeting spend but not racking points

I've also bought $500 GC at walmart with CCs no issue around here by me. As I mentioned before, I've had success a couple times converting WM GC into Visa GC.

For those not familiar with Discover rewards, you can trade $40 cash back in for $50 of Sam's GCs. I do this when my balance hits $400 so I get $500 of Sams/WM GCs then buy a Visa GC, cash it out. $94 easy profit.
