Good suggestion! I did a side-by-side comparison of Chase Ink Bold/Plus vs. Amex Biz card to see what would be more lucrative. I found that the valuation is very close, if you value UR/MR points the same. I assumed $10 savings are applied to the total purchase amount.
For Amex Biz Open:
Purchase Price: $400 (2 $200 cards, one transaction to get over $250)
Activation: $13.90
Savings: $10 (one $10 discount per transaction)
OPEN Savings: $40 (10% of total)
TOTAL: $363.90
Money earned: $36.10
Amex MR earned: 404
Points valued: $7.27
Total value earned: $43.37
Return: 10.84%
Chase Ink:
Purchase Price: $400 (2 $200 cards, two transactions)
Activation: $13.90
Savings: $20 (two $10 discounts)
TOTAL: $393.90
Money earned: $6.10
Chase UR earned: 1970
Points valued: $35,46
Total value earned: $41.56
Return: 10.39%
Hope this helps someone....

Yeah, they probably just want people to buy the lower value/higher fee GCs to make the 200+ purchase, give themselves more foot traffic, and up their sales on packs of gum to go with the GC purchases.
"SAVE $10 when you purchase $200 or more in MasterCard® and
Visa® gift cards"
Those lower value GCs will affect those calculations a lot, and not in a good way. Here's hoping that people find some 200's in stock and have good cashiers!

it is not instant.. cashier had to scan a discount code…my store allows just one card per customer per day…not worth the hassle for me

Just got back from two OfficeMax locations near me - each location let me buy 4 $200 Visa GCs (8 total) for $1,575.60 ($24.40 MM), and more importantly 7,878 Chase UR points using my Ink Bold. Apparently, around here they're not too strict on the 1pp limit.

Report from 9 June at ~10:30 @ Office Max
Report from this morning, 9 June 2013 at ~10:30. My Office Max did not have any $200.00 MC or Visa gift Cards in stock (Did have $200 Amex GCs, but as the promo did not list Amex GCs I did not try). They did have $100.00 Visa GCs issued by MetaBank listing www.giftcardmall.com on the back for $5.95 load fee. I bought every $100 Visa they had in stock, two per transaction, with my Ink card. Cashier had to scan the bar code in the weekly coupon book for the $10.00 to come off each transaction. I did set the pin on one of the purchased GCs via phone with no issue. Does anyone know if this is necessary or can I just set the pin on my first transaction with the card?

I was able to get 5 x $200 at one location...had to tell the cashier that "you have to scan the bar code in the book." There are no signs about the promo and she didn't know about it, and since the register doesn't automatically take it off, you'll probably have to inform your cashier too. I just chatted her up as she did separate transactions - she didn't even question it. The ad clearly says "one per transaction", but YMMV if you get someone who interprets that as one per person, household, or day. Be friendly!
Very few $200s available though...maybe some new ones will come in with a shipment later. Does anyone know if OM regularly gets stock on a particular day of the week?

I can also confirm that the $10 is applied as savings, it is not a rebate. The cashier has to scan the promo code separately.
Bought 13 $200 cards and 20 $100 cards total. Made $20.65, plus earned 23000 UR points! Sweet! Now off to Wal-Mart.
