This is the thread for posts through 2016. The new thread for 2017 is http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manufactured-spending/1826119-billpay-walmart-2017-a.html

Bill Pay cannot be done at a regular register.
It must be done at Customer Service/Returns.
Or at the Money Center in stores that have it.

BUSINESS DAY transaction completion time is 18:59:59 EST
Friday after 06:59PM EST, until Monday BEFORE 07:00PM EST arrives Tuesday
Tuesday BEFORE 7:00PM arrives Wednesday
Wednesday BEFORE 07:00PM arrives Thursday
Thursday BEFORE 07:00PM arrives Friday
Friday BEFORE 07:00PM arrives Monday
But when a next-day payment will post and be visible depends upon the CC issuer.

--------------------------------------------------------------
WM offers two BP services: CheckFreePAY and MoneyGram. The cashier can initiate CheckFreePAY by selecting Money Services followed by Bill Pay on the register for a fee of $1-1.88. Moneygram is $4.99.

Once your CFP account is set up, you can add cc. When you want to BP give them your phone# to look up your account under Money Services. They often get confused and think you want MG, but just say it is under Money Services.

ONLY 4 successful debit card swipes can pay for a transaction.

ONLY 5 payments per 16 digit account number per rolling 30 days.
--------------------------------------------
:-:VISA and MC
If your particular card isn't on the list below, try "VISA" or "MASTERCARD."

"VISA" and "MASTERCARD" payee can no longer be found by search at some stores. If the employee can no longer find "VISA" or "MASTERCARD" by searching in CheckFreePAY, then you cannot pay either, end of story.

Following do not work:
Any and all Vanilla VISA, Vanilla MC, and OneVanilla VISA.
Glimcher VISA
MASTERCARD
$1.88 next day.
Works:

Yes, each debit card is $500, but you can use 4 of them, coded into the computer one at a time by the Cashier, for a single BP of $1998.

I too usually do two BPs per visit, but to 2 different cards. Never had a problem with this. But I don't think two payments totaling over $2500 to the same cc would fly, at least without the reporting requirements being filled out.

Luckily I have a WM Market 2 blocks away from a regular WM, so two quick stops and I've paid $7992 total. Which is plenty for me. I can't really offer any advice for those of you doing $40K MS per day.

Costs $1.00, takes about 3 days to post (Sat BP posted Wed night). Worked perfectly for my CSP.

i assume you're asking because you'd rather pay $1 than 1.88. i'd like to know as well. i'd try myself, but i need to learn what my downside is first if it doesn't work. i'd hate to have to claw back VGC's as a payment source to save .88! if i had a suntrust or a non prepaid debit card i didn't mind using- no worries. but i don't trust any of the prepaid's if there's a problem.

so... anybody using suntrust or the like, let us know how it goes!

if you're just looking to pay: i paid my ink is mc. i just told them mc, as per the wiki. worked fine. hit my acct in 1 day. for you, wiki says: checkfreepay-> visa are the instructions.

Wrong. I have done 5-10+ BPs to the same card one after another. With VRs at CVS gone now, most of the time they are all sub $2500. Why would paper work be required?

Thanks for the info -- Understood. When I first started WM I had to fill out paperwork all the time and after speaking with the Store Manager and finding out I did not need to fill out paperwork, I've been fine since.

It's really YMMV with the cashiers. I'm sure some people are able to do multiple <$2500 payments to the same card with no trouble. I'm also sure that some people cannot do more than 1 $2000 payment without having to give more information than usual.

can anybody help to confirm how long it takes for the payment posted on credit card account if i choose $1.88 next day? I did a billpay for my citi mastercard last Sat, but no payments show on my account today(Tue), could it be a delay or a missing payment?

Paying on a Saturday is no different from paying on Monday at 5 PM EST.. It's Tuesday, 5:47 PM EST now.. Now ask yourself if this is a missing payment or if you have to stay patient and give it another day or two..
