-Blunts, alcohol, and smokes
-Gift cards, Lottery tickets, MoneyGram, etc

Don't know if this is region/area specific but I bought a variable Visa this morning (for more than $100) and the coupon did not print. Some other stuff printed out on the Catalina coupon machine, so the coupon machine was definitely functioning.

Terms say variable loads don't count

Some Safeways stock $200 fixed value cards, so you could use those instead of the $100s. The fee is only $1 more on the $200 card, which is easily covered by the points on the extra $100 spend.

Anyone tried this? The ad does not say $100 or more.

The $10 off coupon needs you to spend $20-$30 in groceries not including dairy products to get the coupon to work. I tried buying $40 of stuff and split into 2 transactions but dairy products did not qualify and would not take $10 off. So bought all the stuff and once it crossed $35 it took off the $10. The $35 had dairy products

This is interesting. I thought the coupon for $10 off $10. I haven't used mine yet, but will try later this week

Interesting. Always thought dairy products are excluded on matter the total grocery bag. Most time I would just buy <$15 non-Dairy and ended up paying less than $5.

Dairy products, gift cards, booze, smokes, stamps, etc are all excluded, as are 'taxes' for that matter. Although I have gotten CRV to qualify in the past.

That said, they still don't disclose the actual exclusions anywhere as far as I can tell. Not on any of the promotional material, nor the coupon itself. So, if you're willing to put the effort and perhaps debate with the manager for a while, they will ultimately honor the coupon for anything they sell in the store.

I am not sure exact amount needed as I was not aware of the dairy exclusion. But I am sure it was more than $12 of groceries as I had 1 item costing $12 but coupon did not work.

If you shared what said $12 item was, there might be an explanation as to why it worked.

Also forgot to mention, prescription drugs / co-pays are also excluded.
