Just curious why this isn't in the Wiki.

After searching the this forum and the CVS thread, I am unable to find my answer. What is the maximum number of swipes at CVS per OV purchase? I have 5 $100 amex gc that I would like to p/u a 500 OV but I am not sure if there is a max # of swipes per purchase.
Thanks.

Max is 5 tenders at CVS POS. Hit credit after swipe and it'll take the remaining balance. How is this not in the wiki?

It is hard at my CVS' to get away with using one AMEX GC to buy a GC, much less five. I don't want to say don't do it, but be aware of the implications. Hopefully you know a cooperative cashier.

Actually the limit is 7 swipes.

Your situation is totally YMMV for using Amex GCs. I have had many cashiers not care if it's an Amex GC (even non-personalized) but I have also had many that would not accept them. You just have to go to the store and try. If they say no, try a different store/come in when a different cashier is working.

Led Zep - with help from ADK!

LED ZEPPELIN LYRICS

"Stairway To Heaven"

There's a CS lady who knows not all that glitters gives Diamond or gold.
And she's buying a VR at 7/11.
When she gets there she knows, if the deal is not hosed.
With her cards she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, And she's buying a VR at 7/11.

There's a sign in the Walmart but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes "debit" has two meanings.
In a phone tree you must call, there's a CSR who sings,
Sometimes all of our identity must be faxed in and given.

Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it makes me wonder.

There's a feeling I get when I look to the CVS,
And my spirit is crying for VRs leaving.
In my thoughts I have seen reams of MO stock made from trees,
And the voices of those who stand in line looking.

Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it really makes me wonder.

And it's whispered on blogs too soon, if we all blog it it will be ruined,
Then the piper will lead us to reason.
And a new day will dawn for those who MSd long,
And the empty Walmarts will echo with laughter.

If there's a bustle in your credit line, don't be alarmed now,
It's just a spring clean for the FR queen.
yes there are two GCs can choose from
But in the long run it don't mind what card you debit from.
And it makes me wonder.

Your head is humming and it won't go, in case you don't know,
The piper's calling you to join him,
Dear CS lady, can you hear the fraud alerts grow, and did you know
You think your customer lies because he follows your T&Cs within?

And as we drive from store to store down the road
Our MS is woven into our soul.
There walks a CS lady we all know
Who checks our ID and wants to show
How everything scratched off VRs is silver and not gold.
And if you listen very hard
The blggger will ruin your deal at last.
When all are one and one is all
To be an MSer and not a troll.

And she's buying a VR at 7/11.

Can I ask what people in NYC have been doing after this tragic change at CVS?

I can still buy OV at some CVS but I have no way to liquidate. All 7 Rite Aids that I went / called don't sell MOs. USPS don't do MOs. We got no WMT here. What do you guys do? Any insight (here or pm) would be appreciated!

I had the strangest coincidence yesterday after my CVS run. I stopped in around 6:30PM to purchase my usual 5 x $500 OV's with my 5% WF Card. As soon as I get back to my car, I received a call from a 866 number. I figured it was the WF automated fraud call that I used to get my first 2 weeks of using the card. I checked the voicemail and it was actually an automated message from "Netspend customer service" about my prepaid debit card. The problem with that is I don't have a Netspend debit card, only BB.

If you own a car simply head to NJ 1 day and spend the day driving around , load up on gas before crossing back into the City and that will offset the toll

Otherwise you simply have to do what I just did in Seattle and play Hit or Miss, its a PITA but it worked in the end = walking in many places asking if sell MOs or GCs, and being prepared to walk out most times empty handed

Thank you for your comments! Been doing Evolve and AP but it is not nearly as the volume I was doing with VRs...

Maybe, I should take a weekend trip to NJ now....
