Visa ReadyLink

I have tried bringing my prepaid debit card to load at a participating VRL grocer but they looked at me like I was a martian. Even tried to swipe my card at the register to see if it would work and nothing came up (according to them). They are kind of clueless around these parts and they said it must be loadable through western union as they are an agent. I decided to leave without pressing for more to do some more due diligence. Has anyone tried to use this as a loader?

Are you sure you know how this works? Maybe a little more detail on what you tried to do would help. Were you purchasing a reload card?

Yes I am aware of how this works. It is a way to reload pp debit cards at various retailers for a fee. My local grocer shows up in the list of retailers but is not up to speed. Some retailers allow cc funding and you can load up to $1k for $3.95. It is somewhat newish and only been out for a few months. Curious on anyone's experience. I am going to keep trying to find a retailer that will let me use a cc but if doable this is a piece of cake as some of the pp debit cards allow bill pay and ach pull. Plus it is cheaper than most relaoding opportunities out there, it appears at least.

I'm curious about this too. Some retailers have a special desk you have to go to, and it looks like some have kiosks. Finding a kiosk that takes credit cards sure would be handy.

From looking at what locations they list on the Visa ReadyLink website.
http://usa.visa.com/locators/readylink-locations.jsp

For my area they are all MoneyGram agents. Walmart, Ace Cash Express, Tom Thumb, CVS, and 7-11.

I have been seeing Visa ReadyLink popup pretty much in all of PP reservation. I have asked cashiers at CVS and Vons if they can load my PP card at their POS and all I got was a blank stare.

Has anyone successfully loaded a PP card at a visa ReadyLink card either with a cc, dc or cash.

Here is a little info. The WF card has the readylink symbol on the back. So maybe try to follow these instructions.

It would be great if we can swipe it though. I think there is a much higher chance of being able to use a cc by swiping than filling out the blue form mentioned in the link.

the real question is: Can you load a PP Visa card with a 5x at CVS?!

Or if any clerk has heard of this/or knows how to do it with having to get every mgr involved in the process.
