What we know so far, that we are happy to share, and won't get the hump when other people ask us or other people get the hump cos we know something they don't.

3V / Pay.com cards are no more

That is all.

5. My Credit Card bill comes in with a 3 standard charges of £300, total £900.
6. Transfer balance of Range/Spark card into by bank account for £4
7. Pay off Credit Card with a pament of £900, with no extra fees to pay.

Job done.

Yes?
Your total cost would be, I think (not done it):

£900 credit
3x£1.99 charges
£4 fee

£909.97

So over 1%.... If you are near a range store, then get vouchers to avoid the £1.99 charges.

But with the vouchers can I still get them refunded into my bank account?

You use the vouchers to top up the card, and then pay from card to bank account... I think. Not tried it, yet, myself.

It would appear that it is only Visa & Mastercard, which is a bit of a shame.

Luckily I've got the MBNA Amex thingy which includes a Visa for places that don't take Amex - so far the only place I've found that doesn't take it though is B&Q.

Probably worth getting another MBNA card with the Amex/Visa if you don't already. Makes that fee a bit more bearable

Ah, I see - Will investigate further on this then.
Going to use the Visa to top up for starters and see how I get on

..in case you dont know already, better way for B&Q spend is to buy B&Q giftcard from Tesco, that way you get that Amex points/avios for the spend, plus an additional 150 bonus Clubcard points per £50 giftcard spend

Only problem with that is I'm then stuck with a B&Q card that I don't need at the moment, and (knowing me) WILL get lost by the time I do need it.

Payzone is not a store. It is a terminal that some convenience stores have which operates a range of transactions such as utility bills, phone credit, and so on. Most payzone outlets do not accept credit cards for payzone transactions, even though they may accept them for other transactions.

I thought I'd replied to this. Must have failed to post.

Yes, I know Payzone is a payment facility not an actual place - when I said go to Payzone I was referring to the literal act of going to a Payzone (machine) and making the transaction.

They seem to be littered around quite well, so between the ones local to me, local to my parents and local to work, I should be able to make at least 15 visits per month without visiting the same one twice.

Is it being over 1% something I need to be aware of? Or are you just saying it's over 1%.

The 2 nearest Range stores to me are 23 miles away in Enfield, so about 60 mins travel, or 38 miles away from me in Reading, so about 60 mins travel too.

Not sure if it's worth the cost of fuel... unless I'm going to Costco anyway

Do any of them accept Amex for Payzone payments though?
