You can't use this card on Venmo
Ran into the exact same issue. Tried adding a Chase Iberia Visa and got the "You can't use this card on Venmo". Tried a Citi AAdvantage biz Mastercard and same message. Waited a week and tried again. Same message. Called Venmo and they said that my account is not locked and I should try a different card. Tried a Citi AAdvantage personal mastercrad. Again, same message. Waited 2 weeks. Tried all the cards again. Again same message.

I'm wondering if they have put some type of block on new cards (as in account less than 6 months old) or if I am just more or less "shadow-banned" at this point. Customer service knows nothing and apparently has no tools to help. Anyone able to successfully add a card after starting to get this message.

I use Venmo primarily to receive payments from friends and sometimes to pay people with my credit card. Have never had any issues previously and have been using the service for several years. Disappointed in customer services inability to help or provide useful information. Is this avenue dead now?

Getting to be we need a Wiki for Venmo. The Venmo website clearly states, in writing, that they accept gift cards just like debit cards...in other words, no fees.

Unfortunately, that is not the case as shown in this forum a thousand times.

There were a few DPs on Reddit of the same success. Wanted to post here too. I loaded $300 MetaBank VGC bought from Staples. Paid all of it with zero fees added on. It'a shame the current card limit dropped to 4.

Are you using a Vanilla Visa Gift Card? Venmo doesn't seem to take them because you can't add your address to the card.
