For venmo it doesn't matter, but I sometimes use them to buy GC at my grocer, and they need to see the name.

Mine was working till the afternoon and then stopped by the evening. I actually called AmEx to see if it was something on their end. They said merchant is using wrong security code. I haven't called Venmo

I'm having issues with AGC purchased at Safeway on both Venmo and Verizon. And the AGC I bought on Amex last week aren't working with venmo, but the card purchased two weeks ago worked just fine as of the same day as trying the new cards.

agc > venmo is dead, per reddit. mcgc > venmo still works, but limited to $500/card.

I can confirm Metabank MCGC on Venmo works without a fee (says it'll charge 3% but does not in reality)

Well that's all the card can hold so yeah... Also remember only 6 cards/6 months so it's not really scalable.
