Soft landing
Unfortunately my experience with MAS means that anything I read or am told by them that sounds remotely good or generous I don't really trust them and want to seek real world verification...
On their Enrich terms and conditions (https://enrich.malaysiaairlines.com/enrich/about-enrich/terms-conditions.html) it says

Just wondering if you managed to get an answer to this ?
Also curious with Platinum Companion Card, does that qualify for a soft landing to Gold as well ? |

I don’t have first hand experience but have read here that the soft landing in the terms and conditions is honoured and still up to date. The same T&C do state somewhere that the companion card does not get the soft landing.

Companions get soft landing. But they don’t necessarily follow the sponsor. Say I qualify for Plat in 2024, then in 2026 I only qualify for Gold, then the companion will still soft land to silver after March 2027.

I qualified for Plat in 2023. Did not requalify for any MH status in 2024. I was soft landed to Gold for 2025-6. Companion was not soft landed for 2025-6 - is now Blue. --- Not much skin off my Companion (wife)'s nose, as she is still OWS by JAL https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cath...l#post35804715 . However I've spent the morning replacing her Enrich number with JGC this morn to reinstate her OWS privileges across our upcoming year's oneworld travel by MMB/phone/chat. P.S. Except when we got to our MH metal booking (not below). For that one, even I'm not entitled to a seat assignment now (as Enrich Gold https://www.pointhacks.com.au/enrich/ ) (at least I retained my seat assignment made as Plat, my wife's got taken away) https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...bceec048e9.png https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f5b0e6a6f0.png |

Seems no soft landing (maybe I misunderstood you?).

April 2023 dropped down to Gold after qualifying for Plat in 2019. Earned Plat for 2020 with Covid status extensions for 2021 and 2022. Sometime in 2023, requalified for Gold. However, companion also soft landed to Gold in April 2023. Hence my previous comment. In January 2024 qualified for Plat and had to resubmit application to get companion upgraded back to Plat. I really don’t know if the Covid extensions accidentally caused the companion soft landing or if Enrich updated the policy to disallow soft landings for companions. |
I am currently trying to search for Enrich status validity period, but cannot find clear info in Enrich own official website, or I just missed it.
The best info I can find is here: https://www.refinedpoints.com/post/t...latinum-status Once achieved, Enrich Platinum status is valid for the remainder of the calendar year in which it was earned, plus the entire following calendar year, and then further extends through March 31st of the year after that. Let's assume that the information above is right, and I clocked in 100 Elite Points in 1 October 2025, that means I will be Enrich Platinum from 1 Oct-31 Dec 2025, 1 Jan-31 Dec 2026, and 1 Jan-31 Mar 2027. I wonder if I have to clock in 100 Elite Points again to qualify for Enrich Platinum in 2026... or I can just wait until 1 Jan 2027 to start the qualification again? If I can collect 100 Elite Points within 3 months (1 Jan-31 Mar 2027), then the Enrich Platinum status will be active again for the whole 1 Apr 2027-31 Mar 2029? Sorry to ask many things, but I think it is too good to be true if I can just qualify for Enrich Platinum once every 2 years. CMIIW. |
Yes, once in 2 years if you time it right.
This is a Matt's Planet kind of calculation British Airways Club has a one month "grace" period between 1 Apr and 30 Apr where you still enjoy the benefits of BA Gold (their Enrich Plat) but accumulate towards the next 1 Apr-31 Mar membership year - renewing during "grace" period is most efficient. With Enrich this "grace" period is 3 months. |
