[Rumor] Malayasia airlines bankruptcy news??

I wanted to book Malaysia airlines tickets for Nov under its current sale. However there are constant news over the internet about financial stress and bankruptcy chances of the airline due Covid losses. Is it worth booking the ticket or not worth the risk??

Make sure you have insurance which may cover it. Or check if your credit card payment would cover it.

We do not have insurance which cover airline bankruptcy.Any views on airlines financial capacity to carry on?

MH has been bailed out by the government multiple times for less pressing reasons.

Yes, one would guess that MH have been technically bankrupt a number of times over the last 6-7 years.

At the current situation, it seems like majority of the airlines are at this edge... several airlines have announced layoff, just sad

Not sure how MH does but the rank and file staff members are still all right while the manager level and above were given pay cuts (a ex colleague of mine is in office/commercial segment). Not to mention those flight ops staff (Pilot/CA/Engineers)

Interesting thing is no one from Air Asia actually shared the internal bulletin to press unlike MH or Malindo Air.

The MCO orders also doesn't not help the hotels much anyway. Some hotel went full retard and kick out everyone before the MCO starts when in actual fact those in house are allowed to stay on shd they wish to do so.

Hotel/lodging industries also hit hard by this virus, pay cuts/unpaid leave were the order of the day.

If I am not mistaken Airlines still can fly domestically with the exception between East and West Malaysia. At least some kind of cash flow still going on there provided the flights were still operational as usual

MH does implement the volunteer no pay leave for several days on the air crew, but seems got back slash from the fight union few weeks ago. Since after haven't hear anything how this will go

Maybe they prefer keep thing under wrap unless someone decide to share the whole internal memo to the press (eg like the the case with Mallindo Air internal memo).

At least from those i knew working there, things are going on as usual other than work from home (they are not manager band yet).
