(*) Denotes the availability of alternative lounges operated by oneworld partners. Note that select oneworld lounges restrict access to certain travellers only, and cannot be accessed either by status or if otherwise mentioned, class of travel. Qatar Airways Lounges are only accessibly to travellers flying in oneworld First Class or Business Class cabins. You can find more information about oneworld and oneworld airlines on oneworld.com

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are the Golden Lounges? What are partner (non-Golden) lounges?
The Golden Lounge are airport lounges reserved for premium travellers of Malaysia Airlines and its partners. These lounges are operated by Malaysia Airlines and could be found in Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, and London Heathrow.

Lounges listed above that are not Golden Lounges are considered to be partner lounges. Partner lounges can be operated by a third party operator/airline on a contract basis, or otherwise by a oneworld partner airline.

Who can access the lounge?
Travellers flying on Malaysia Airlines can access the lounges listed above provided that they are flying in Business Class or First Class. Elite Enrich members holding, Gold, and Platinum status travelling in Economy are also permitted access. Enrich Blue and Silver members flying Economy can access the Golden Lounges by redeeming Enrich miles for a lounge pass. Additionally, members of oneworld Frequent Flyer Programs holding their Sapphire or Emerald tier equivalent are also entitled access.

Can I bring guests to the lounge?
Travellers on Malaysia Airlines, holding Enrich Gold and Platinum status can bring one guest also flying on a oneworld airline. Travellers holding oneworld Sapphire and Emerald status equivalents can do the same.

Can I buy access to the Golden Lounges?
Yes, a single-entry lounge pass can be purchased to buy access to the Golden Lounges in KLIA. More information can be found here.

How can I access the Golden Lounge First Class (Business Suites Lounge)?
Currently, access to the First Class side of the Golden Lounge (where available) is limited to passengers travelling in Business Suites on Malaysia Airlines and First Class on partner airlines, as well as travellers holding Enrich Platinum and its Emerald tier equivalent from a oneworld partner airline, travelling on Malaysia Airlines or oneworld airlines.

Business Class and Economy Class passengers are permitted access should they hold the Emerald status equivalent*.

Are upgraded passengers entitled to Lounge Access?
Travellers upgraded through the MHUpgrade Scheme can use the lounge. Travellers upgraded due to operational needs (operational upgrade/op-up) do not receive lounge access entitlement.

Is alcohol served at the Golden Lounges?
Alcohol is available at certain times of day in the Golden Lounge Satellite and Golden Lounge Regional at KLIA. It is not available at the domestic Golden Lounge in KLIA, or in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

*Malaysia Airlines, effective 12 December, has replaced First Class with Business Suites. Lounge access terms to the First Lounge seem to remain intact according to AusBT (https://www.ausbt.com.au/lounge-access-explained-for-malaysia-airlines-business-suites-flyers), and confirmed here on FT (https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/30543633-post57.html).

Is it possible to use the satellite lounges if flying on a 737 flight to BKK? I know they usually go from the regional international area of the terminal.

Sure. Just make sure you leave sufficient time to get to your gate if it is at the main building.

+1
It won't be a problem.

Also, the lounge is directly above the train platform in the Satellite Terminal, at which you arrive having taken the shuttle train to Satellite.

Hi folks,

Does anyone have knowledge of the current a la carte menu for the First lounge at KUL satellite?

My outbound flight will be breakfast time, my return dinner.

Many thanks.

Nasi Lemak is part of the menu for sure. Just one thing to remember is that the table (non-buffet) breakfast service doesn’t start until 6:30am

Nasi Lemak (same as Business Class side but of course it's plated for you), Kaya (Coconut Jam) Toast with runny eggs for breakfast a few days ago (there was a third option but I forgot that one)

There was a Beef Hamburg (Japanese style beef patty with miso mustard sauce) and Soy Marinated Salmon (with Hokkien Noodles and Kai-Lan [Chinese Kale]) made to order a few weeks ago for lunch/dinner. I believe there were other options (laksa or another noodle dish) as well but I think those are similar to those of Business Class.

At MNL, JL lounge welcomes eligible OW travellers flying MH. It is much better than the default lounge in every aspect.

However it is only opened during JL departures. Hopefully if more OW flyers use it, JL may recognise it as a revenue stream and extend the opening hours.

Yes, by rules, MH gold let you bring one guest, child over age 2 consider as one guest.

However, sometimes the contracted lounge might unsure if MH gold/OW sapphire/OW emerald lounge access rule. So, you can prepare a screenshot of Enrich gold on lounge access to show to them. This happens to me when I was in Manchester Escape Plus Lounge. However, the staff was very kind enough to make a call to confirm my sapphire status allow me to bring a guest in.

Hi there,
I have couple of questions.
1. Which lounge is used by MH in Mumbai for Oneworld Emerald ?
2. I have a 12 hour transit in KUL. Is it possible to Transit to departures area,
Use the lounge for shower and then exit the airport to go to the city ?
Thanks in advance...

Update: I think I found the answer to #2 and it is a Yes, unless someone
has any other information !

1: Just check Oneworld website, Lounge Access page
2. Yes correct, the MH Golden Lounge in the Satellite terminal (accessible by train) also functions as arrival lounge so you can go there to take a shower
